Default Thoughts on Venditti’s Justice League—Expectations for Spurrier’s run

As we return to our previously scheduled programming regarding the Justice League, Robert Venditti’s 8 issue run should be winding down, with upcoming writer Si Spurrier’s run starting up. What’d you like from his run? What didn’t you like? Thoughts/hopes for what Spurrier will bring us?

Scott Snyder has already teased Justice League will be tying into death metal soon, I'm curious if Spurrier will write those issues or if someone else will.

Thanks to Covid, I completely forgot about Death Metal coming.

Probably just a guest writer. Jeff Loveness is after Spurrier.

Frankly, I enjoyed Venditti's run more than a lot of Snyder's bloated run. The highs weren't as high, but the stories didn't waste any issues with seemingly pointless subplots that went nowhere.

The great S. Spurrier will lead the JL to an undefeated season and will completely overhaul the offense. It's going to be like the great Florida teams of the 90s!

Spurrier is one of my favorite writers, but it looks like he'll be gone after a few issues.
Seems like the book is stuck in fill-in mode until Snyder finishes what he started.
Reminds me of the post-Infinite Crisis runs, which were just making time for the Meltzer relaunch.

It seems like Justice League is just spinning its wheels until Snyder does whatever he will do.

Yeah, Spurrier isn't doing a run, he's doing, what, a three issue arc?

There won't be a proper run on JL again until after Death Metal. We have a year of filler.

Does that mean Snyder is coming back to the title?

Maybe, but it would only be short term - tie-ins for his Death Metal event.

Probably not. But they're waiting for him to finish his big JL story over at Death Metal so the next big name writer can take over.
