Default DC Next Dawn - June Solicits!

We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, JUNE 2020!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

If you want more information on Next Dawn or are interested in plotting yourself, please visit us at the Next Dawn Bullpen Thread.

    Behold! Our monthly archive!
This is the repository of our prior work; a compilation of all the monthly solicitation posts since the forum was reset in 2014.

CLAW THE UNCONQUERED #4 of 4
    Miniseries
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by R. A. SALVATORE
    Art by JAE LEE
    “OH, WARLORD!”
Having fought their way through the savage land at the center of the Earth, Claw and his allies have finally reached the region’s principle settlement - a fortified colony known as Shamballah! The wizard Arion of Atlantis founded the burgeoning metropolis after the Great Upheaval sunk his homeland, though he admittedly was unprepared for the inexplicable dangers that arise frequently in the mystical realm of Skartaris.
Despite good intentions, Arion made mistakes. He was also a near-immortal wizard and would always stand apart and aloof from mortal men. He believes the denizens of Skartaris now need one of their own to rally around. A hero. A fighter. A Warlord. Could destiny have delivered Claw the Unconquered to claim that mantle?
With Shamballah’s armies at his back, Claw could liberate his homeland of Pytharia from the evil King Vandar Adg (Vandal Savage). But before he can free his people, he must free himself...
Arion reveals that Claw’s cursed hand cannot be cured. The appendage binds him forever to the demon Belial, with whom he constantly struggles for dominance. The only way to end that war of wills... is to slay the demon! Arion can open a portal to the underworld, but Belial is powerful and has but one exploitable weakness... a human hand! Can Claw survive the fires of Hell to finally win the battle for his own mind? And what role will Belial’s young son Etrigan play in this contest?

    DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE #10
    Plotted by Clark_Kent
    Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Dan Jurgens & Jay Oliva
    "Krypton Rises" Part Three
The Flash wakes up on a table in STAR Labs. He has a mild concussion, but otherwise in good shape considering his run-in with Faora. STAR is trying to track her movements via satellite, but she's moving fast around the planet and only stopping intermittently for mere moments before moving again. Superman sets off to search for her, while Batman tries to speak again to Hamilton.
At the Daily Planet, Lois Lane is working on a story about the flood damage in Amnesty Bay, and wondering if she could get a quote from Aquaman if she asks Clark nicely...when suddenly WGBS breaks in on the local news to report sightings of Parademons off the coast of Africa! Are these stragglers left over from Steppenwolf's invasion? Or are these new scouts? And why is Lois suddenly so nauseous?
Batman meets with Prof. Hamilton, who is still mostly out of it. The walls of his room have long been overflowing with Kryptonian writing and words and phrases. Batman disconnects the camera in the room, and removes his cowl hoping he can reach Hamilton better as Bruce Wayne. He begins talking to him, and minutes pass. Hamilton stops, and turns to Bruce, his eyes still a pale white, and he speaks: "Bell...Rung...Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding..."

    THE FLASH #11
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by ROBERT KIRKMAN
    Art by FRANK CHO
    “EXTINCTION EVENT”
You know how they say not to jump into the water yourself to rescue someone drowning? Same goes for time! You’re supposed to rely on a professional. Iris West believed she was doing just that when she enlisted Booster Gold to help her find the Flash. Turns out... he’s just a dudebro from the future with “borrowed” tech and zero real expertise. He begs her not to expose his secret in her next Central City Citizen article, and she’ll consider it... if they can ever get back from the Cretaceous Period!
But even a broken watch is right twice a day! Booster did hit the mark, as somehow Barry got himself flushed down the time-stream and landed into the same era. Can he reunite with Iris and get Booster’s temporal machine working before they all fall victim to perhaps Earth’s first speedster... the apex predator... the fastest dinosaur alive... Velocity-Raptor?!?
Flash Fact: Velociraptor, meaning "swift seizer" in Latin, is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 75 to 71 million years ago.
Meanwhile, in the present, Vandal Savage realizes he may have underestimated the threat of Gorilla City. The Light’s influence in Africa was clearly insufficient to defeat Grodd’s forces. The Light, however, has global reach. Savage decides the entire world must target the upstart primates. Blaming them for the destruction of a United States Naval Vessel should do the trick - and Cheetah is all to happy to carry out his plan for a false flag attack!
    32 PGs./Rated T+ …$2.99

    GREEN LANTERN #11
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by MARK MILLAR
    Art by JOE MADUREIRA
    “OA HAS FALLEN”
This is the Green Lantern Corps. To any who can receive this message, Oa has fallen. Repeat, Oa has fallen. Nowhere is safe.
Hal Jordan was too late. His supervisor Ganthet, secretly possessed by Starro, systematically weakened the planetary headquarters of the Green Lantern Corps and left it vulnerable. Starro’s legions, comprised of warriors from twelve entire galaxies, surge forth and swarm. The universe has never seen a fleet of such vast enormity.
Hal, John Stewart, and Kilowog risk everything to evacuate Oa, safeguard the remaining Guardians of the Universe, and relocate the Central Power Battery. Without that Battery, Lanterns cannot recharge their rings and will eventually become powerless... which is exactly what Starro wants!
With a mind-controlled Doomsday as the tip of Starro’s proverbial spear, the Corps faces odds that are more than overwhelming! But they must fight on, for without Green Lanterns to hold the line, Starro may be unstoppable...
And Starro’s next target is Earth!

    LEGENDS OF THE MULTIVERSE #10
    Plotted by Clark_Kent
    Written by Grant Morrison
    Art by Kenneth Rocafort
"The Slayer of Earth 4" part 6
Superboy wakes up on a table in a library. His head is pounding, but he's alive. The Eradicator has been sitting at the table for hours, silently watching over the Boy of Steel. He is pleased to see the young clone awaken, or at least as pleased as the Kryptonian weapon can be. Nearby, John Henry works to repair his armor while he speaks with Vicki. Vicki explains this library was once a headquarters of sorts for herself and her crew, and she still uses it occasionally. Henshaw, in the corner, isn't doing very well...the vampiric venom coursing through his flesh, staved off only by his Kryptonian cybernetics.
Vicki fills in the group on the history of her world. The battles won, the friends lost. She knows how to find Vampire Batman, but getting past his Justice Masters has proven impossible. Batman hasn't been seen leaving the Tower of the Dead for years, his minions bring his food to him. Henshaw clears his mind, and joins Steel...it's time to take the battle to Gotham!

    THE QUESTION #11
    Plotter: CaptCleghorn
    Writer MARK RUSSELL
    Artist BILL SIENKIEWICZ
“How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?”
The nefarious Sportsmaster is back in Hub City. He’s representing the sensational Lorelei Circe, the singer/entertainer/entrepreneur/businesswoman known as the Siren. Now, running tours for a pop icon may not be the most trustworthy profession, but it’s not illegal. And the Siren bringing her talents to Hub City at a time when the Hub is suffering in so many ways is an action which will strengthen local businesses. How can there be anything wrong with these celebrities wanting to help Hub City in its decades of need?
But Vic is concerned and curious. Both Crusher Crock and Lorelei Circe are suspected to be part of the secretive society known colloquially as the Illuminati. And when they gather together, the plot thickens.
For those of you doubters who dismiss Vic’s conspiracy claims, keep in mind, that Lorelei is debuting in both this and the crossover book the same month. Surely, the act of an overreaching corporate entity. #mindblown

His Ego utterly shattered, Dick has become one with the Starheart.
The Red X suit was designed towards this end, shaping not only Dick, but the infant-like Starheart as well.
Assimilation of consciousness is now all it knows. And once Meridian implants the Starheart in Yggdrasil, it will touch every mind on the planet. Every being will become one mind, one will.
Yggdrasil and Humanity itself will become Instruments in the hands of Meridian.
There’s no stopping it. It’s already begun. This is the end.

    SENSATION COMICS #11
    Written by Kieron Gillen
    Plot by H-E-D
    Art by Stephanie Hans
    CIVIL WAR IN AMAZONIA!
After her battle with wolves in space, Diana has discovered that the attacks on Amazonia have been orchestrated from within!
The mastermind? Woutan, the patron god of the Realm of Ys!
Lines are drawn as the true causes and motivations of the chaos come to light.
Woutan believes it’s Amazonia’s destiny to continue to conquer: all realms should be theirs.
On the side of peace: Thymescira, Manõa and Cenculiana.
On the side of conquet: Ys, Cantre’r Gawelod, Tarhuntassa and Bana-Mighdall.
Will the Wonder Woman remain loyal to their homes, or their hearts?
    32 PGs./Rated T+ …$2.99

SONS OF DITKO #2 (crossover between DC Next Dawn and AOM-NU)
Written by Mark Russell and J.M.DeMatteis
    Plot by CaptCleghorn
    Art by Brendan McCarthy
Book 2: “Who Is John Galt?”
Vic’s quest to find out what Rex Graine is doing has gone slowly. It’s clear that there is some vengeful action planned, but beyond that, nothing is clear. Vic’s also wondering what the real motivations of the mysterious “Spider-Man” are? A super-powered man just out to stop crimes? Seems like a comic book.
Vic has a back-up goal for his NY trip. The notorious and prominent singer/performer/entrepreneur Lorelei Circe, better known to Planet Earth as The Siren is in NYC for a concert and Tot has tickets which he gave the kid two of, leaving one for Vic to use to investigate the singer behind the scenes. The presence of the disreputable figure known only as Mysterio is handling special effects for the concert which raises Vic’s suspicions even more. Mysterio is considered the master of illusion and can make people believe they are seeing anything and Siren is said to control men’s minds. This is certainly a threat that needs to be stopped.
As for why Tot’s not at the concert, he’s visiting Peter Parker’s (the kid interviewed last issue) aunt and guardian May Parker. And Tot’s bringing flowers. Roses.
    Rated T+, 40 pages, $3.99

CLAW THE UNCONQUERED #4 of 4 (Etrigan? Him again? I got a feelin. For more Demon!)
DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE #10 (Professor Hamilton is the key. Rhyming these comments is tough for me.)
THE FLASH #11 (Velocity-Raptor? This naming ability is truly second to none. I can NOT do the rhyming thing the whole month, #sorrynotsorry))
GREEN LANTERN #11 (Krypton rises? Oa has fallen? This is truly an unsettling balance.)
LEGENDS OF THE MULTIVERSE #10 (Batman's minions bring food to him? What happened to Alfred's agent? Why doesn't Pennyworth get more respect?)
THE QUESTION #11 (The Sportsmaster and the Siren make for a weird pair.)
RED X #11 (Dick Grayson repairs reasonably priced. Seems an excellent business opportunity)
SENSATION COMICS #11 ("Will the Wonder Woman remain loyal to their homes, or their hearts?" Brilliant sentence. Book sold on that alone)
SONS OF DITKO #2 (So is this mini just a plot to sell Siren as the uber-villainess of the Next Dawn universe?)
TEEN TITANS #1 (Looking to be a great series with a very interesting start.)

    "Darkseid...always hated music..."

Every post I make, it should be assumed by the reader that the following statement is attached: "It's all subjective. What works for me doesn't necessarily work for you, and vice versa, and that's ok. You may have a different opinion on it, but this is mine. That's the wonderful thing about being a comics fan, it's all subjective."
