Default JLA Bruce vs Solo Bruce

Reading some JLA from the 00's and really just not liking Bruce vs solo books. Same thing with modern JLA, anyone else see a major difference in the writing of the character in the team books vs solo?

Well of course there is going to be a difference, Solo Bruce lives in Gotham where he tries to be a brooding loner who deals with street crime and psychopaths. Meanwhile Justice League Bruce sets up shop in the hall of justice with his telepathic alien in a jar, trying to be the best equipped hero in any situation with a variety of super weapons that he uses to save the world and sometimes existence itself. The fact is there will always be a tone difference, because the Justice League are not going to act the same way Bruce does and Bruce has to adapt his tactics to being in the league.

JLA Batman is "Batgod" while Solo Batman is brooding detective that can die from a gunshot wound.

Batman has to be powered up when he with the JLA or it simply wouldn't work. He has to be so good that he has thought of every contingency if not he can easily die and he cannot be saved by other members or else he is ineffectual, so he becomes superhuman.

Batman in Gotham is a man who can get knocked out with a surprise lead pipe to the head.

Writers understand this and write accordingly, for example, Snyder wrote New 52 Batman where he was trapped by the Court of Owls in a maze like death trap where at the end he goes crazy and gets stabbed nearly dying.

The same Snyder wrote Batman in Justice League fighting the Legion of Doom, and a goddess that literally created the multiverse.

So yeah there is a difference

Different, but both are still pretty great when written well.

They used to be very different but over the years solo Batman has gotten more powerful. More elaborate gadjets and crazy contingency plans. At this point Bruce is BatGod 24/7
