Well I’ve heard he’s connected to the red and is even more powerful

So basically I’m wondering what he can do now that he’s channeling the red teaming up to fight the rot with swamp thing

He's actually always been connected to the Red like Swamp Thing is connected to the Green.

This isn't New52 specific but in the original "52" year long series he was shown to be able to copy alien animal powers from as far away as other planets.

As good as Jeff Lemire's New 52 run was, it had a lot of rehashed elements from Jamie Delano's Vertigo run in the 90's.

I'd actually say Buddy's feats in that series were more impressive than anything accomplished during the New 52 era...

Truthfully, other then the Sun_Eater space travel. I haven't been all that impressed. He hasn't done anything note worthy yet.
