that could be bc of her time in the Brotherhood and Magneto forcing to do awful things in duress in the name of mutantkind. In this hypothetical alternate reality, he wouldnt be around to influence her so she may not be as apathetic towards the cause

if the character is mentioned in a thread about mutant leadership, when she isnt a mutant and when she was belived to be one she wasnt conected in the sligtest to this side of marvel ofc we will bring that up.

she was in the brotherhood for like 3 minutes compared to her tenure as an avenger.

Okay? She never connected to mutankind as an Avenger bc that rarely came up for her. Thats only been prominent when her relationship with Magneto was enforced and its bc of what it meant to him and how he would push that on her. Without him around, I think she may have had different feelings towards it

A world without Xavier and Magneto!

Emma Frost experiences an incident in high school where she accidentally renders the entire school unconscious! Never hearing about these kind of powers before, she tries to find answers and in reaching out with her mind she discovers another young telepath named Jean Grey! Jean Grey and Emma Frost decide to work together and try to find others like themselves and to try and help them with their powers!

There I just wrote a new history with the two most powerful young telepaths of the time discovering each other and realizing they have to try and locate and help other mutants! This was back when Emma was still an idealist who wanted to be a school teacher, and she left her family home not long after this! Jean had recently experienced the accident where her best friend died! Emma and Jean discover each other, perhaps they end up at the same mental hospital around the same time, and they realize they can read each other's minds! In realizing what happened to both of them, they decide to seek out others like themselves and try to help them with their powers. Emma tells Jean how much she loves teaching and suggests that they find a way to start a school together!

Thats a very recent retcon. She believed herself to be a mutant for years and would have had that knowledge in the scenario proposed

I would turn expectations on their head too, Jean Grey becomes more like Magneto as she realizes how much hate for mutants there are, Emma Frost tries to maintain that if they educate humans properly they can have peace with humans! So Emma Frost becomes the AU Charles Xavier, and Jean Grey becomes the AU Magneto! Just to turn things on their head a bit! Of course they eventually realize they have to work together and establish the mutant nation of Krakoa after Destiny reaches out to them and tells them that the mutant race is doomed unless they unite together again!

And because Jean and Emma are both mature women who can actually talk to each other, they work things out and unite for the betterment of mutant kind! Perhaps they meet Storm who explains to them that they have to stop being divided and they decide that Storm has a good head on her shoulders so Jean and Emma make Storm the new leader of their teams!

Yes it is. We are talking 7 years vs 50 years. This doesnt matter nor takes away from the point that was made

Are we really pushing Wanda Maximoff as a spokesperson for mutant kind in the absence of Xavier and Magneto when we have Jean Grey, Storm, Emma Frost, Elizabeth Braddock, Kate Pryde, Rachel Summers!

Heck even Angelica Jones is a better representative for Mutant Kind than Wanda is! Angelica doesn't protest about being part of the mutant race, she doesn't "want to be human"!

Wanda Maximoff has spent her whole career since leaving the Brotherhood of wanting to separate herself from mutant rights in every way possible! Right down to erasing the powers of a million mutants and not even showing an ounce of remorse or regret afterwards! 1000's of depowered mutants died because of her actions and she didn't go to prison for her crimes! For those saying she was mentally unstable and manipulated, well that doesn't excuse an act of genocide and at minimum that woman should have been institutionalized in psychiatric facility for the rest of her natural life since she can't be trusted to control herself and her powers because she is too mentally unstable to the point that she would allow herself to be used to commit genocide against mutants!

If you picked Storm to replace Xavier and Magneto, I would back you 100% because she would be a perfect person to take their place in the timeline! Storm is a proven strong leader of the X-Men and a perfect advocate for mutant rights in the Marvel World! If you want someone to take the place of Xavier and Magneto the last person in this fictional universe that they should choose for that is Wanda Maximoff!

That would also be a nice twist. I'd read this as an alternative timeline book. How would other mutants side in this scenario?

OMG, you could have so much fun with this! Cyclops leads the Brotherhood of evil mutants, and Pyro, Blob, and Avalanche were in the original X-Men team under Jean and Emma!

Just completely mix it up, with characters all over the place in unexpected teams! Emma saved her brother Christian much earlier, and she introduced him to Bobby Drake and Bobby and Christian are married and work with Emma at the school! Of course Hank became Dark Beast in this reality, just because! Hank McCoy is the Mr Sinister of this AU Universe!

Kate Pryde was taken by Apocalypse and became his most dangerous horseman, Death!
