No matter how ridiculous or believable comic book stories get they inevitably always end up reflecting the big picture of culture, current events, and history.

A'lot of the war comics from the 80's really stand as profound artifacts of a time when attitudes about war and militarism were changing drastically in the wake of the Vietnam conflict and in the final days of the Cold War
