    X-Men The Hellfire Club #1 Jan 2000
    "Witch Hunt"
Freelance journalist Irene Merryweather has decided to follow her instincts
and heads to Salem to get some background information on a story she is working on.
Meeting with a priest outside a church, she mentions that she’s after details on a Reverend Hiram Shaw, and so
the priest allows her inside to give her the scoop, on the understanding that what he tells her never leaves the church.

He recalls a tale from 1692, where Reverend Shaw had taken over as the priest in Salem, during the infamous witch hunts.
As Shaw preaches salvation to the masses, his son Obadiah’s relationship with a young woman called Abigail Harkness galls him.
He believes her to be a witch. He warns Obadiah not to see her again, but his son insists that she is innocent.
As Hiram Shaw sleeps, Dormammu brings him to his dark dimension

and Shaw is revealed to be this century’s Sorcerer Supreme.
Dormammu warns Shaw that his lust for power is the spark that will condemn his
decendants to damnation, and shows him images of people, some not yet born.

He asks Shaw to submit to him and he promises to lighten their load but Shaw refuses and is cast back to his own reality

where he finds his wife, Sarah, dead.

Shaw uses Harkness as a scapegoat and she is duly sentenced to death.
Obadiah decides to risk his own life and rescues her from jail,
but they are quickly pursued by the townsfolk, as they head for the harbor.
Obadiah is shocked to find that Abigail is, in fact, a witch and she uses her magic to kill many
of their pursuers, leaving only Hiram Shaw alive, unable to save them lest he reveal his alter ego.

In the present day, the priest reiterates to Irene that she must never speak of Hiram Shaw again.
He doesn’t know what became of Obadiah and Abigail, but the revelation must have been a shock to him.
Irene thanks him for the scoop and leaves but, once she is gone, the priest is shot and killed by an unseen assailant.

Tomb of Dracula #29 Feb 1975
"'Vengeance is Mine!' Sayeth the Vampire!"
On a rampage through England, Dracula seeks out another female victim and violently takes her down.
Their struggle brings people who try and save the girl. Dracula easily kills them before feeding on the girl.
When a police officer attempts to arrest Dracula, the vampire king simply laughs and flies away in his bat form.
Flying across the countryside back to his mansion hideout.
His mind stuck on thoughts about how Shiela Whittier left him, Dracula dismisses
his mixed feelings and decides that he will deal with humans with the coming night.

That afternoon at the home of David Eschol, Shiela raises her concerns
that Dracula may try to get revenge against them for walking out on him.
Realizing that the vampire king poses a real threat, David decides to do something about it
and decides to go to Shiela's old mansion and kill Dracula once and for all, despite Shiela's warning not to go.
Armed with his Star of David and a wooden stake, David believes he is well prepared to deal with Dracula.

While in India, Taj cries over the vampiric form of his son which has been sedated and given blood transfusions to keep him alive.
Taj's wife reflects back to the day when Dracula had come to India with an army of vampires and attacked their village.

That very attack would lead to his son being turned into a vampire, his wife crippled
and Taj's vocal chords being permanently damaged when Dracula attempted to feed from him as well.
Taj and his wife would be saved by Rachel van Helsing who had traveled to India
in her on-going quest to try and destroy Dracula, prompting Dracula to flee the scene.
These events would lead to Taj leaving India with van Helsing to try
and get revenge against Dracula for all the damage he had done to the village.

Meanwhile, at Dracula's manor, David attempts to kill Dracula.
However the vampire lord rises from his sleep and attacks David.
Dracula easily overpowers the ill prepared David who is killed in the fight.
With David dead, Dracula goes to his home to collect Shiela,
bringing David's body with him to show her that he had killed her lover.

Horrified by what Dracula had done, and not wishing to live as his slave any more,
Shiela instead chooses suicide and jumps out the window, dying upon impact with the ground.

Horrified himself by what had happened, Dracula turns into his bat form and flees the scene.

Personally I would like to see the Midnight Sons make a come back, though I think they would function better more as a secret society whose members are spread out across the globe/US than a traditional superhero team. Could have Doctor Strange and some of the more powerful individuals be in charge of dealing with more significant threats beyond the scope of their agents, providing council to the Sons on supernatural matters, and assigning missions where need be. Meanwhile the rest of the Sons could be dispersed across the globe/states dealing with problems as they find them ala the Winchesters in the earlier seasons of Supernatural.

For that matter, the Bloodstones could take a bit of a more active role filling the horror niche and dealing with supernatural threats. As is they seem a little more Monster Hunter than Castlevania, which is odd for a family that's supposed to be more in line with the Belmont's.

Is the MCU Blade supposed to be a Disney+ show or a theatrical film? I also wonder if anything will be done with Ghost Rider considering the show was cancelled.

    Uncanny X-Men #190 Feb 1985
"An Age Undreamed Of!" Guest-starring the Avengers, the New Mutants and Spider-Man.
The military has come to New York in full force after a strange mystical barrier has erected itself around
the island of Manhattan, transforming the teeming metropolis into a Hyborean realm of barbarians and magic.
In Washington DC, there is an emergency meeting with National Security at the White House.
There, Valerie Cooper briefs those gathered of the situation going on in New York.
She explains that anyone who crosses the mystical barrier into the city is
transformed into a barbarian from a bygone era with no memory of their previous life.
However, those who stumble out of the area are restored to normal.
Intelligence has gathered that an evil sorcerer named Kulan Gath is responsible for the spell.
Attempts to contact the Avengers and the Fantastic Four have failed.
However Val confirms that a number of the Avengers, X-Men and Spider-Man have been spotted active in the city.
All of them, with the exception of Spider-Man, have been transformed.

When the talk focuses on members of the X-Men, a bunch of anti-mutant rhetoric gets passed around until a commanding military officer
speaks up about how this is exactly the sort of bigotry that America fought against when they battled the Nazi's during World War II.
Val breaks up the debate and tells them that she hopes the super-human community trapped within the mystical barrier can resolve their problem.

Within the barrier, Storm of the X-Men has been transformed into a warrior woman aboard a passenger ship.
She is awoken when her sleeping quarters is broken into by the Morlocks, who now are enforcers for Kulan Gath.
They arrest her because her existence displeases their master and they are about to brand
her with a hot iron collar, but Storm manages to break free, knocking over the hot coals.
As the other Morlocks attempt to avoid the flames, Storm climbs up to the mast head, but Callisto follows after her.
Unarmed, Storm is defenseless when Callisto slashes her stomach open with a knife.
This causes her to briefly remember her previous identity.
With the boat burning up quickly, Storm grabs Callisto and swings out to the water.
Being sure that Callisto takes the brunt of the impact, Storm swims away from the blaze and passes through the mystical barrier.
She and Callisto are restored back to normal and Storm retains all her memories.
Swimming toward a military vessel, Storm wonders what Kulan Gath has done to her other friends.

At that very moment, Kulan Gath is doing everything in his power to convert those who would stop him into his loyal slaves.
To this end, he magically merges Professor X and Caliban into a single entity to better hunt his foes and has Sorcerer Supreme,
Dr. Strange, mystically warped so that he cannot utter a magic spell or cast any with his fingers, rending him harmless.
With these threats neutralized, Gath orders prisoners to be brought to them.
The most recent prisoners are members of the New Mutants.
However, while he is capable of transforming Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Mirage into his loyal slaves,
his spell has no effect on Warlock who manages to escape. When it is explained that Warlock does not come from Earth
and is immune to the Master Spell, Kulan uses his magical might to force Caliban/Xavier to deal with the Technarc.
Gath is unaware that he is being spied upon by Selene who also has not been affected by the spell and has decided to overthrow him.
Selene teleports into the city where she kills a number of Kulan Gath's minions in an attempt to recruit Rachel Summers and Magma to her side.

Meanwhile, on the Hudson River on the other side of the barrier, Storm and Callisto are aboard
a military ship trying to figure out what to do, now that they are locked up.
They are contacted by Selene telepathically through Rachel to warn them that Kulan Gath intends
to not only make his Master Spell permanent, but also to make it encompass the entire Earth.
She tells Storm and Callisto that while she cannot prevent another transformation
when they cross the barrier, she can at least make them remember their mission.
Agreeing to do something, Storm picks the lock to the room that they were locked in and they jump ship, heading toward the barrier.

Back on the other side, Spider-Man, one of the only people unchanged by the Master Spell, flees for his life.
Hunted by the New Mutants, Spider-Man ducks into a tavern and tries to fight them off.
Inside are the transformed Avengers, Captain America, Starfox and Wasp, as well as the X-Men Nightcrawler and Rogue.
The New Mutants succeed in capturing Spider-Man when Mirage notices young Illyana and recognizes her as a foe of her master.
Before she can take Magik prisoner, the Avengers step in and a fight breaks out.
Nightcrawler and Rogue decide to join the fight and help the Avengers.
As the battle rages, Colossus and Sunder enter the fray, turning the battle in a massive free for all.

Back on the other side, Storm and Callisto travel the Morlock Tunnels to the edge of the barrier.
Without hesitation the two pass through, once more being transformed into warriors and are instantly ambushed.
While above, the battle rages on until Magik begins using her magic.
She realizes that her Soul Sword frees those from Kulan Gath's control when she strikes her brother Colossus with the sword.
She is soon overwhelmed by attackers until Selene steps in and uses her powers
to slay most of the warriors, forcing the New Mutants to retreat from the battle.

With the fight over, Selene makes her presence known to the heroes and offers an alliance with them.
She is attacked by an astral image of Kulan Gath who swallows her up, transporting her off to be his prisoner.
He warns the gathered rebels to cease their quest to overthrow him, offering them pleasure
beyond their wildest dreams and teleports away, warning them not to cross his path again.
As Kulan Gath disappears, Storm and Callisto arrive and they and the others flee before the forces of Kulan Gath can storm the bar.

When Gath learns that his enemies have fled, Selene mocks him. This causes her to be tortured.
Gath then tells his minions that he wants all the rebels taken prisoner by sunrise and sends them back out into the city.

Meanwhile in the Morlock tunnels, the gathered rebels camp out for the night and begin comparing notes.
They all realize that Kulan Gath is their primary concern but worry that Selene's
brand of evil is something to be dealt with when Kulan Gath is defeated.

Deciding to work together, the heroes all call out "Avengers Assemble!
Although most are gathered together in this rallied cry, standing off to the side are Rachel and Magma.

Tomb of Dracula #30 Mar 1975
    "Memories on a Mourning's Night!"
Visiting the grave of the recently deceased Shiela Whitter, Dracula pays his respects.
Talking to her grave, Dracula expresses his genuine regrets for her passing
before flying off to his mansion in his bat form.

Deciding to write in his journal, Dracula reflects on other times that
he has allowed the perceived innocence of others get the better of him....

Recalling a time during the 1800's in Germany, when Dracula was summoned by
Lyza Strang who has summoned Dracula to kill her husband Archibald Strang,
explaining that her husband's quest for power would destroy both Lyza and Dracula.
Lyza expresses a desire to be with Dracula and share his power.
She explains how Archibald intends to becomes the Minister President of Germany
and in turn would invade Romania and take Dracula's castle.
However there is one more that stands in Archibald's way King William -- also known as Otto Von Bismark.
Dracula would accept the woman's request and fly off into the night to seek out his target.
Dracula would find Strang arguing with Bismark over who is the rightful ruler of Germany.
Waiting until Strang has left, Dracula would stalk and kill the man.
However, he would find that he had been betrayed as Lyza would arrive
shortly after with soldiers who would stake him and throw him in the river.
As it turns out, Lyza had secretly been having an affair with Bismark and had Archibald
assassinated in the hopes it would help Otto win the position of Minister President.
However, when Otto gained the position he would tell her he had no doubt that he would win it
and exiled her from Germany less she stand trail for murder.
While out in the woods she would become yet another victim of the vengeful Dracula.
She would become a vampire, and would later be killed by Abraham van Helsing.

Dracula would reflect how Bismark's rise to power would lead to World War I and the invasion of Romania,
but digresses from the recollection to another moment when his belief in innocence was challenged a few months past...

He recalled how one night he had met a young blind girl named Melanie Knight, who's parents Marcia and Paul have hit hard
financial times when Paul has lost his job and cannot afford to put Melanie into the special school they intended to enroll her in.
They would be having an argument about money and what to do with their daughter while she plays outside with her doll.
Dracula would happen by and find himself in an odd situation
where the blind girl asks Dracula to help talk her doll into taking a bath.
The argument indoors would escalate to violence, and Paul in a moment of fury would shoot and kill his wife.
Hearing the shot Dracula would enter the house to investigate and see that Paul had killed his wife.
Throwing him out on the lawn, Dracula would then feed and kill Paul himself.
When Melanie would inquire what Dracula had done, Dracula would explain that her father had killed
her mother and that Dracula in turn killed her father as an act of vengeance on behalf of Melanie.
Melanie, horrified because she loved her father, would burst into tears
and announce her utter hatred toward Dracula, hitting him over and over.

Finishing his recollection, Dracula has a hard time trying to understand
how the child could not understand the concept of revenge.
He then recalls his first encounter with Blade the vampire hunter,
during a time he lived in China in the year 1968...

Blade would come to Dracula telling him he represented a group of men who believed that in another sixty
years vampires would rule the world, and that realizing humanity had no chance against their "superiors"
Blade would offer his and his associates assistance to carry on Dracula's bidding during the daytime.
Blade would further entice Dracula with this idea telling him that they had
facilitated a plan that would speed up global conquest by vampires to only ten years.
Intrigued, Dracula would agree to go with Blade to meet his associates.
Dracula would meet these associates: Ogun, Azu, Musenda and Orji.
However, Dracula would soon find that this was all a trap,
and that they were really a group of vampire killers.
They would nearly succeed in destroying Dracula by driving a stake into his heart.
It would be during this battle, Blade's companion would try out wooden
knives of his own design and find that they work just as well as stakes.
However, their effort would be for naught, as when they would leave to prepare a grave
for Dracula's body, his servants would come and remove the stake from his heart.

Finishing his recollections, Dracula would muse over how when they returned the battle would end
in Dracula's favor, and although Blade survived the encounter two of his fellow vampire hunters were killed.
Dracula further goes on to recall that the only living member of that ill fated group of vampires was Blade,
while Dracula continues to live on. Dracula once more revels in the fact of his own eternal life.
