    I'm sure I've seen some raunchy anime where a line was added or something to assure everyone that the characters were 18 when clearly in the original they were a teenager. I assumed this was to avoid accusations of importing child porn or something.

    In some countries there isn't a legal difference between drawings and photos in that regard.

    Compared to Byrne/Claremont on X-men and Wolfman/Perez on Teen Titans, sexuality in the following creative teams was practically puritan. However, the audience changed as well. In the 80's, when your target is almost exclusively teenagers and mostly male, sexiness is going to be part of the story. Not sure it's that different today. Look at Michael Bay movies.
