What have been your favorite books from IDW over the years?

For me,

Locke & Key
Hands down the masterpiece. So much better than the TV show.

30 Days of Night
Some of these minis have been pretty good. The first one that the movie is based on; X-Files/30 Days of Night was solid also; few others. I didn't even mind the recent update on the original.

Winterworld
A personal favorite. Really good art and a solid science fiction story.

Ragnarok
Walt Simonson's take on a very different Thor. His art is as good as ever.

Doomsday.1
A good scifi concept mini from John Byrne. I think this was his last book before he kind of retired from drawing.

Star Trek
Many good runs here. The various John Byrne minis earlier on, the Kelvin timeline stuff, even the recent Year Five seems solid. Star Trek/Green Lantern was also a highlight. I've noticed IDW tends to put their better artists on this property.


There might be some others I forget just now. Been meaning to try G.I Joe: A Real American Hero since I seem to recall enjoying what little I read from the original Marvel run a million years ago and this being the continuation, but it's almost 150 issues in so seems like a big chore to start going through all that...

Walter Simonson's Ragnarök has to top my list.

The Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye a slow burn sure, but well worth it, once it going. This book has it all: drama, comedy, romance, brutal and violent action, political commentary, sci-fi, and a dash of fantasy. Easily one of the best comics written in the last decade and can even rival and surpass the best DC and Marvel comics were publishing at the time while also showing the limitless potential of The Transformers when presented as characters and not as special effects.

John Byrne's Next Men One of my favorite series from the 90s were revived, reprinted, and Byrne was given a chance to wrap up the series the way he wanted too.

The Fallen Angel Peter David's dark masterpiece was picked up by IDW just because the EiC at the time wanted to see this series continue after DC cancelled it, joined by new artist J.K. Woodard whose painted style gave this series a much needed shot of a gothic and/or haunted look, that made the The Fallen Angel and her world look creepy and yet real.

IDW's TMNT is the most well written and consistently great comic on the shelves today and it's been that way from issue 1!

The Green Lantern/Star Trek crossover was pretty epic as well.

Definitely TMNT since it's a bit unfair to go for Usagi when only 6 issues were published by IDW.
