Deep Blue X-men

I always wanted an underwater X-men team/strike force since Utopia... prepared for attacks under the island but are there enough amphibious or water-based mutants to make this happen?

Sharkgirl
Iceman

Hydro (if alive), Squidboy, Fish can make an appearances...

Maybe add mutants that do not need to breathe... Rockslide?

Dave Cockrum had a character named Silkie who was supposed to join the X-Men after the arc with Magneto's island base. She had hydrokinetic powers as well.

Iceman would still be good to have on an underwater team. He can literally control the battlefield.

I could see Crosta, Squid Boy, Hydro, Naida, Loa, Fish and Shark Girl with Namor as leader and Namorita as co leader.

This is exactly what I wanted to add ads well. Because these already can breathe under water and especially Loa and Crosta already have strong ties with Namor.

Then revive Hydro and add him as well (as some one else suggested). Add the Atlantians who joined Namor during Curse of the Mutants and Namorita as well. That would make the perfect Deep Blue X-Men team.

Squid Boy, Shark-Girl, Fish and Tiger-Shark guest starring some of the times.

They should have teams for every environment/situation and a water team would be super cool to have.

Since Namor doesn't want to be involved with Krakoa my idea would be:

Meggan - elemental, shapeshifter and generally their powerhouse.

Lifeguard - breaths underwater + adaptations for everything else.

Crosta - the long range energy blaster.

Loa - breaths underwater + close range destructive power.

Shark Girl - close range fighter/bruiser and she also has enhanced senses. Let her turn into a full shark like Rahne turns into a full wolf.

Squid-Boy: give him something like Aquaman's marine telepathy, so he could be similar to Black Tom in using marine life to monitor the environment and such.

Washout - he can turn into water, from X-Statix and Weapon X later. This could be useful in a sea environment of course, if he gains enough control because if I'm not wrong he used to be pretty bad.

How about bringing back Liefeld's S.U.R.F. characters from New Mutants annual 6? Sharkskin, Eel, and Undertow. At the time, I loved their look. And it was nice to see other mutant Atlantians other than Namor and Namorita.
