I agree w. you on the oversaturation, but my nostalgia will overcome it in this case.

Agreed on all counts. And I ended up liking Black Canary a lot more than I thought I would.

Agreed as well. I hated Flashpoint, but mostly because it gave us the New 52, which I detested. But the story itself wasn't very good, either.

they do know what they’re doing. they have a plan. the Flash movie has been confirmed to be a “reimagining” of Flashpoint and will involve the multiverse. i for one don’t want Batman to be in it at all but Michael Keaton reprising his role isn’t really a big deal considering the story they’re telling

also I find your skepticism of the Flash movie even happening to be hilarious. obviously there were hurdles but it inspires confidence because Ezra Miller was striving to make sure the movie would closely adapt the comics. that’s why he and Grant Morrison collaborated on their own script. there is already a director and writer attached and casting is underway, WB has consistently stated that this is a priority movie for them. if you look at all their movies in development right now the biggest, the one with the most coverage is the flash
You may find it hilarious, but the skepticism isn't unwarranted. The Flash was supposed to come out this year, IIRC. But it's had multiple directors, multiple scripts, Flashpoint was dropped entirely, and then suddenly picked up again, and more recently, Ezra got in hot water when a video surfaced that showed him choking a woman and throwing her to the floor in a bar. Oddly, I think the Coronavirus may have helped him out here, because it happened right before the pandemic exploded, and since it has, there has been no mention of that incident anywhere. But if it does come back, we may loose the actor playing The Flash. So yeah, I'll also believe it when I see a final trailer for the movie.

In regards to just pure performance I have no doubt he'll rock it if it comes to fruition.

Wow, that's pretty rad. I'd love a stand alone Batman flick with Keaton as an older Bruce Wayne. It doesn't have to be connected to the newer Batman, just let it be it's own thing like LOGAN or the JOKER was.

My feelings exactly. Also, how the hell did Ezra keep his job after choking a woman in public?

There seems to be a split in the reporting on whether Keaton would be Thomas or Bruce Wayne. I think Thomas would be a fail, because audiences want to see Keaton being the Bruce Wayne from the Burton movies. I never read the Flashpoint comics, so I don't know, but I can't see how Barry time travelling would make a 1989 movie occur--Barry's only supposed to be in his twenties, so he wouldn't be travelling back to a time before his birth to save his mother, right? I think it works better if there's a multiverse and Keaton's Bruce Wayne comes from an alternative Earth that Barry travels to by accident.

If Michael Keaton does agree to do the movie, then that gives me some faith that the Flash movie will be good--because Keaton seems to choose good movies to appear in. He wouldn't risk the good opinion that fans of him as Batman just to appear in a weak picture. I don't think he needs the money that badly.

I still remain skeptical a Flash movie happens anyway.
Right now, we don't know squat. This may be the same Batman Keaton played before only decades later. This may be a very different Batman. I'm glad there will be a Flash movie. It will be interesting to see how they approach it.

I think he also tends to look at what the character he is playing will be in terms of how good the characterization is. I think he went with Spiderman: Homecoming because his character was very interesting and the interaction he had with other characters was interesting. He also had no direct interaction with Tony Stark but his character's point of view about Stark contrasted tremendously with the standard point of view.

He might do a movie simply because he thinks the parts that involve his character are pretty good.

On the one hand, I'm kind of going to need to see the whole "DC's Universe Will Go On..." happen to buy into that the sort of "Outside Chance..." stuff like this will actually happen.

On the other hand, the Michael Keaton who played The Vulture possibly playing an older Batman?

It's hard to deny that it represents a pretty interesting possibility.

It would be the Michael Keaton who played Batman who played Birdman who played Vulture, playing Batman again.

Bruce's dad as batman plot was planned but may have been dropped with keaton casting. So the only good part about flashpoint is gone if true.

Also if ezra is still flash i won't see this. Don't care if they cast tom hanks and the rock in roles i won't see it if he is still flash after slamming a woman to the ground by the neck. Sorry wb. Replace him or i won't see your movie and i am not the only one who has said this.

I have so many questions still about the video and the situation as a whole, but if you consider what is shown to be “slamming” someone down, I really wonder what you’d make of a true piledriver.

I must say I DID NOT expect this! I mean, people have fancast him in a Batman Beyond movie for years, and even someone from DC/WB expressed that hope recently, but having him actually make a comeback to the cowl is...unbelievable!

There are some reports which suggest that he might be appearing in 'multiple' movies, which does make me curious. If he's playing the Flashpoint Batman AKA Thomas Wayne, I guess it makes the most sense for the character to somehow survive the timey-wimey shenanigans of Flashpoint and make it to the mainstream DCU like he did in the comics. But I think a lot of people are holding out hope that he's returning as Bruce Wayne, which makes the whole thing trickier.

I'm also kinda wondering if DC is planning to take a full-blown Multiverse approach to their slate moving forwards, possibly incorporating the various live-action shows as well. Between the Snyder Cut, Joker, Matt Reeves' Batman, WW/Aquaman/Shazam sequel and now this, I don't really see them confining themselves to one universe/continuity anymore. DC has traditionally been the master of the Multiverse compared to Marvel, so maybe that's how they carve out their own niche in superhero cinema.

Ezra getting in hot water a couple months ago has nothing to do with the years of development this movie has gone through. regardless I don’t see how anyone can be skeptical the movie is even coming out. that’s kind of ridiculous to me
