Default What was that JSA story?

I remember a story, it was a back up set in their heyday.
The team was at some big banquet, and Dr. Midnite was, tbh, looking down his nose at some of his fellow, more blue collar JSAers. At the end of the story, someone gave him the treatment for having an owl at the table.

Anyone know that story, and where it appeared?

I could be wrong but are you thinking of one of the Starman Times Past issues? With the Red Bee?

almost positive it wasnt Starman. I didnt read that book at all till a couple years ago, and the JSA story memory is older than that...

It was in one of the Secret Files & Orgins issues.

I think the title was DC Secret Files & Origins 2000.

Edit: Found it. It’s in “Golden Age: Secret Files & Origin” from early 2001.

The story is called “Scenes From the Class Struggle at JSA Mansion.”

At the blue collar table: Atom, Johnny Thunder, Flash, Hourman, Spectre

At the rich snooty table: Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Dr Mid-Nite, Starman, Dr Fate, Sandman, Green Lantern.

To be fair, Dr Mid-Nite was the only one being real snooty. And Green Lantern wanted to sit with the other table.

Oh HECK YEAH, that’s the one! Thanks Will Evans!
Dr. Midnite was the only one I remember being snooty, too, which made the ending funnier!
