Default Characters that were drastically changed for the better

I was reading Red Hood and the Outlaws and was just in awe in how much i consistently love Bizarro II.

so I was wondering, who are some characters that you feel have been drastically changed for the better.

if you answer the first question, feel free to throw in who you feel were drastically change for the worst if you feel. the first one is more important tho.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

Green Arrow. No doubt about it. From Batman knockoff to Comics Noir in two easy steps.

If you look at All-American Comics #1, Green Lantern underwent substantial changes in his abilities before The Golden Age ended, but that was nothing compared to the addition of The Space Police angle added in the Silver Age relaunch.

Glad you mentioned Red Hood, because Jason Todd would be my choice for drastically-changed for the better character:

    Blue Beetle.
From fairly generic clean cut good guy to jokester who gets no respect but has hidden depths.

    The Question.
From fairly ruthless self important hero, to Zen martial artist.

Really, all the Charlton characters got changed quite a bit, as DC used them in various ways Post Crisis.

This one is mine as well.
Babs as Batgirl only works as part of her early career, much like Dick as Robin.

Super-Boy Prime. I think the various oops moments speak for themselves.

That’s more of a character evolution (imo).
A drastic change should come out of nowhere, or be synonymous w. character reboot. Dick’s road to becoming NW was something that Wolfman and Pérez wrote into the New Teen Titans practically since the first issue.

Oh, I see. Then I'd say Jason Todd becoming Red Hood is a much better answer.

Booster Gold. Going from a guy who just wanted to get rich playing a hero to being the unsung guardian of the time stream.

Good one. I don’t think anyone saw that coming.

Both Jason and Biz were already mentioned, but I would like to second (third?) them.
