What did Dennis O'Neil think of modern Batman

I remember that he was not a fan of Batman being on the JLA. He and Morrison had fights about that iirc, O’Neil is a firm believer that Batman needs to be “grounded”, so he wasn’t a fan of Batman paling around on the moon or what not. During his tenure as editor was when they had that rule about Batman being perceived as an “urban legend”, which never really made sense given his status as a JLA member.

I’m surprised he let Batman be in JUstice League International, when none of the other older characters like Clark, Ollie, etc were allowed there.
