Yeah, sure he did...
Ask Moira, she knows.

That's what's happened in the past, Captain America took down a president once and there was the Avengers with Norman Osborn. Daredevil and other heroes are working against Fisk right now. It's a few people in authority, they don't control the entire government like the Quiet Council does. No need for a coup. Norman Osborn is with the Power Elite, Selene's group - do you want the X-men to do anything about it?
Edit: Read Captain America. Rogers, Bucky and Sharon Carter have been fighting the Power Elite.

In fairness, I doubt the Coatesverse is the same as the rest of Marvel at this point.
Exactatiously.
That's why the mutant shenanigans in both BP and CA are easily ignored.

In other words, the entire plot of Coates is set before Aaron's Avengers, so long before War of the Realms, much more than House of X.
Yupp.
Selene is now on Krakoa helping out...her guest appearance in CA was a while ago (Marvel time)
Storm helping T'Challa against the Space Wakandans has been over and done with for...months (?)
All prior to HoX.
And has absolutely no relevance to DoX, now.

So now it's good to ignore what's going on in other titles. Since when did conquering America become "shenanigans"? But Selene is a mutant and teaming up with Norman Osborn may as well become an initiation rite for mutants now. And it's not like Hickman's X-men are impacting the other sections, when they should be. None of this is outside canon.
It's not just Hickman who is ignoring Coates, it's ALL the other writers. Right now his Captain America is like Remender's Uncanny Avengers.
How are they going to take Coates' Captain America into account if it's not over yet and it's set many months earlier than the rest of 616? They are not fortune tellers.
And Krakoa has impacted other series. It is mentioned in Chip's Invaders that it is very important in the balance of power, Bruce Banner when making his plan takes into account that Krakoa and Wakanda are the only nations with a chance of surviving global warming and there are even mentions of Krakoa flowers in Amazing Mary Jane.
