The ancienty weapon will be a Thanagarian ship of course. During the movie he would have visions of a mysterious woman fighting along side him, at the end we would go to Thanagar where we would meet captain Shayara Hol waking from a dream with Carter, she would them be called by her superiors who would tell her they got a distress call from a lost ship.

Metamorpho. Rex Mason is an adventurer/mercenary working for sleazy business man Simon Stagg. Rex is sent on a job to investigate some recently uncovered ruins that Stagg thinks might hold a valuable power source. While on the job he is attacked by a rival merc named Copperhead who is working for the mysterious Vandall Savage. The in the fight the Orb of Ra the artifact Rex was sent to find suddenly blasts both men with strange energy turning rex into the elemental man and giving Copperhead his venom pit and the abilty to contort his body to fit though very small openings.

Nah, I think that you can get a pretty complete and good story in one 2 hour movie, for any character. Not everything requires a Netflix series.
