Yes, and it lead to some bad writing and bad character interpretations, especially where Kitty, Piotr and Kurt where concerned.

The Kitty/Pete thing is no more "creepy" than the numerous bad fanfic by bad fanfic "writers" that pervades the comics webs...

Terry wasn't Donna's professor, Donna wasn't even a student in NTT, she was working as a photographer. To be clear i'm not a fan of the relationship or Terry (he kind of a non-entity in the great scheme of things) but i don't like to see fake information about characthers spread around.

As for the main theme in this thread. If you enjoyed their work, keep it bro, getting rid of it is not gonna change and you are not endorsing their behavior by buying it and enjoy it.

Maybe (I personally don’t read that garbage) but they are not published authors and they are not doing stories that are considered canon. The Kitty/Wisdom situation is different because the topic here is if it is possible to separate the art from their authors when they are discovered to be predators, something that is not an issue with fanfic (and the fact that that pairing and those stories are as bad as that type of fanfic is a problem in and out of itself).

But fanfic isn’t canon, isn’t written by professional authors and endorsed by Marvel, fanfic will only be read by a minuscule fraction of the most devoted of fandom.

that is why it is called fanfics, that nobodys post on AO3 and not oficial canon on marvel comics.

It seems that certain individuals with these predatory instincts are also the ones that hold themselves higher than the rest. Like with Gerard Jones (try to read his Prime now), some of his work will read differently after knowing what he has been accused of.
Yeah, kitty/Peter Wisdom just got even creepier. All levels of wrong

To put it in context, however, in the other thread where you got worked up (and which you are snidely referring to here) it was over a comment from a creator that you felt was not sympathetic enough to male victims of harassment. Which I never saw by the way, because he deleted it and issued an apology for not understanding that it would be taken the wrong way. Apparently it was something he thought was humorous which was not. You and another poster flipped out and wanted him fired over it, and some (like me) had the audacity to disagree and say he learned his lesson and didn’t need to be fired.

That is absolutely not the same thing as defending someone accused of harassment! Not even close. For the record. I just happen to believe in both due process and that the punishment should fit the crime.
he wasn't any sympathic to female survivors, even Leah Williams called him out on this.

what person would talk about harassment and rape as being humorous? I can't imagine somone thinking it was ever ok and his apology as weak AF "i'm gonna open my DM's" LOL
Yeah I would let him go, he isn't a person that women would feel confortable to work

people shouldn't talk about what they don't know, there is real victims all there. Think about making fun with it, just let his privilege being seen

due process is always good, but people have been let go for much less

Yeah, that is why I used Gerard Jones and Prime as an example. What was before somewhat inappropriate but dismissed mostly as comedic situations (the adolescent secret identity of the main character having a crush on his teenage classmate and expressing that interest in the adult body of Prime) reads way, way creepier now that you now that the author was sentenced to prison for possession of child porn.

I tend to separate the author from their art. I read and watch comics, books, shows and movies by people who have done things I personally think are wrong, or whose political POV I don't share, or who have opinions I find offensive. I can still enjoy their work of fiction without necessarily caring about what they do in their private lives.

I also find it amusing how people suddenly care about everything related to sex and sexuality and want to cancel people from this planet if they commit an offence related to that, "sever ties" and never hear from them again. Mind you, an adult man taking advantage of teenage girls is despicable behaviour. But so is being a jerk to your neighbour, cheating on your partner, abandoning your family, not helping someone in need, a recruiter ignoring you on LinkedIn when you're desperately looking for a job, someone bullying you. Different levels of gravity, of course, but where do we draw the line? Or are people showing indignation for offenses related to sex and sexuality because it's trendy to do so?

being a jerk to a neighboor is not on the same category.

Also the rest has nothing to do with professional setting.

Imagine one of the creators of spider-Gwen offering young girls comics to sleep with him. it is unprofessional.

same For Ellis using his position to mentor girls and using it to see them naked and other things.

what is the problem of thinking sex offenses are really bad? it isn't trendy at all. I think people always reject sex ofenses but now there is open spaces like twitter to talk about it.

Maaaaybe it's cause the victims of those offenses have more outlets to discuss that sh!t? Or maybe connections to people are easier than ever perhaps they've seen or heard too many stories like theirs and they decided to talk on it? Or maybe the daughters/friends/family of past few decades grew up in a world where speaking up was likely to get them a punch and a listening ear sooo there's less backlash from speaking out? Or maybe it's cause there's more evidence/research on how this sh!t effects it's victims told/kept quiet? Or maybe people are mad at the sheer number of things like this occuring? Or it could be learning more of the sexual violence perpetrated by past famous actors/athletes/politicians etc has left America's collective nostalgia tainted? Or maybe it is trendy? They'll always be people who go overboard with a trend...do even if it's trendy there's more and more folks who for them it isn't and will continue it....in i.e. exposing violaters of anothers sexual/mental health/pursuing justice for sexual victims. Soooo in this case Maaaaybe its not that bad

My point being, that that plot-line has no say on Wolfman in real life.

Says who? My parents' neighbours were immense jerks to them for years, suing them over the most ridiculous things and making their life a nightmare, to the point that my mum went into depression. This is just a stupid example mind you, but do the people on Twitter care about this? Are they calling for landlords to ban tenants who behave like this? No they aren't, because this isn't the hot topic of the year to feign indignation on.

And so if it's not about a professional setting it's not worth getting angry about? So if Scott Lobdell had simply cheated on his wife with another woman it would be OK then, because who cares about the wife, can't make any Twitter trends about her.

Yes? I remember people complained when a manager let a stranger use someone's bathroom

Also twitter isn't police or god

cheat on wife is wrong, people would get mad? sure, look how people roast on Whedon for doing that.

you are trying to find problems were there isn't a single one
