One day, Apocalypse is in his lair, experimenting with some piece of Celestial technology. Suddenly the device opens a worm hole and sends Apocalypse and his technology to DCU Earth in the year 1900 AD. Apocalypse decides to conquer this new world. I expect things will go very far south for Apoc if he tries invading Atlantis or Themyscira.
Aside from that, if he can maintain control until a certain extraterrestrial ship crash-lands in the American midwest, he's golden. If you thought War Hulk was bad, just imagine War Superman.
