Nschornhorst!
I want to thank everyone who's taken part in this week's contest by posting a cover and/or by voting. Since this was a "wide open" contest rather than one with a particular theme, there was a wide assortment of entries indeed (which of course was the whole point), and accordingly I expect that the voting will be all over the place. I won't be up when the contest ends, so if anyone who is up at that hour wishes to jump in and count the votes in my stead, you have my blessing to do so. If not, I'll do it tomorrow morning.

“It’s your party and you can cry if you want to.” - Captain Europe
He still works for Marvel if there is a project for him but not as much these days. Doesn't seem like he's contracted to any specific company. He recently worked with Garth Ennis at TKO Studios.
nx01a for the whacked out cover, but I like Stony's cover too.

I've got to go with Kai "the spy". I have actually cosplayed as him before.
Thank you Foxley for the vote. That one is also a good cover.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Congratulations javasaurus, and thanks to Exciter for the vote.
I gave serious consideration to posting a cover from either of a couple of Image's more obscure titles that are personal favourites of mine: Shaman's Tears and Chassis. And my actual choice Hack/Slash is a very fun title: a subversive deconstruction of slasher movies and their tropes.
