I noticed that as well. Think I'll give them a go.

Thanks for the suggestions in this thread, everyone!

I never received a damaged book from them. Let's hope their stock gets back to normal soon.

I just placed my second order at Booksetc - was very pleased with the first one. They took a week two ship, which was a bit slow... but the packaging and condition of the books were excellent. And their prices are among the best I've seen in a European store.

Booksetc. - I've ordered from them twice.

Captain America: The 75th Anniversary Vibranium Collection Slipcase for my brother's birthday last year (he lives in the UK). It came with some slight damage to the spine. They sent a replacement which literally looked like it had been through the wars. After much emailing I decided to keep the original copy and IIRC, a 15% refund and my brother sent the replacement back. My brother was fine about it.

This year I tried them again for my 'bro's birthday. This time The Lone Ranger Definitive Edition OHC. It came in perfect nick.

So 50% success rate for me. Saying that, I will probably order from them again when their stock and delivery to Europe gets back to normal (I live in Poland). They go have quite decent prices and I'm thinking that first time was a bit of an anomaly.

I've had 100% success with Booksetc and I've ordered quite a lot from them (over 10 orders). Even their shipping - at least here in the UK - is pretty fast, they use a specific courier.

For me the best store in the UK in terms of shipping speed and packaging is Reed Comics. I know that for outside of the UK their shipping costs are a bit steep though...

Yeah I was wondering that myself. Lots of books that other shops have replenished weeks ago are still out of stock.

They’re a small business. On “About Us” they mention they are a family owned business. I doubt most people here in the UK are even aware of their existence; I only know them because of comics books.

That might be, but they normally had new books in stock.

Thank you guys for this topic. I just moved to Portugal and was trying to figure out where to buy my comics and start again my collection.
Looks like is Amazon (DE/UK), Book Depository, Blackwell's, BOOKS etc, or give up and migrate to digital comics.
Cheap-Comics and Reed Comics have a fixed rate (~20 eur) so maybe if I can find a nice coupon/sale.
Some of the other stores are not delivering to Portugal or they are too expensive.

Here a list of all of the suggestions:

BookDepository is where most of my paperbacks are from. They might not have the best prices on the books but shipping is free and I've never gotten a book that was damaged.
I also tried out Booksetc for the first time, FF Omni vol 1. Decent enough price and The packaging was good, but not on the same level as IST for example.
