The best Gambit and Rogue actors seen so far.

Accents are well done as well and not exaggerated. Love the special effects, though Magik's sword would have been nice as well.

Get this crew for a Gambit/Rogue movie: Mr. & Mrs X.

It was a top quality Fan made short. Really loved it. A lot of creative use of Gambit`s powers here.

It was cute, but I didn't like how they mirrored the XMO:Wolverine's Gambit's visuals; Remy doesn't have telekinetic card trick powers. And his charged cards should be like grenades and actually explode, not just whatever they did here. Also, for the love of the Goddess, his eyes are black and red!!! I know it's weird, but that's why it is so cool! It was great production quality for a fan film, but still not right.
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!

Agree. Charged cards should be like grenades.

Being how it was a fan film their special effects budget was limited (though they did good with what they had.) I imagine red and black eyes are much more expensive than occasionally red flashing eyes, lol.

Plus they can come out looking a bit too distracting. Like if you ever seen the Gambit vs Nightwing batinthesun video you can see it’s a fine line between cool and distracting. I do think the red eyes are a big part of Gambit story and the prejudice he faced because he’s one of the few mutants who displayed mutant traits at birth rather than at puberty

You know what? This was fun. Flawed? Certainly. But it's a fan film. Done just for sheer kicks, not for profit.

Harshly criticizing it is like being mad at a cosplayer for not having a perfect embodiment of a character. Same with criticizing fan fiction. You get what you pay for and since this short fan film just like fan art, fan fiction, and cosplay is all totally free for you the consumer, how much complaining is really warranted? Talk about being entitled. How about go out and be the change you want to see in the world? Show us how much better you can do and for free.

While there's plenty to critique and it's far from perfect, overall it had some nice elements. Definitely wet my appetite for what a filmmaker could do given the proper movie budget.

This fan film already accomplished a few things I found lacking in the Fox X-Men films for these particular characters. Definitely makes me hopeful for what the MCU could bring us with a big name director, high level special effects, and excellent casting.

The acting here isn't spectacular, but they at least embodied the general spirit of the characters for Rogue and Gambit. The bit of flirting was nice. Accents need work, but I appreciate that they tried. Rogue kicking ass is always nice to see. Throwing in Majik without naming her was a tad strange. No doubt she's getting a much better representation in New Mutants, but again ... we're all going to pay to see that movie so isn't that kind of expected? I did like the Assasin character. The plot is super contrived, yes ... but it's not like there was much time for anything deep or complex to be done in such a short film. I applaud the effort here!

Now just give me a Gambit with black and red eyes in the MCU.

Completely agree. Something like this isn't necessarily easy to make and shows a lot of love to the characters, which I can respect, even if the execution isn't the best.

That was actually quite fun to watch, I expected some low budget cringe show but this one was almost on the level of some cable tv shows. I'll go even farther and say that it had better special effects than shows like Supergirl ;P
Well done to the guys that made it!

    Excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed that

The fight scenes were well staged and I thought that the use of Gambit's Bo staff and power set were very creative. Bonus points for the Casino Royale-style card game devolving into a superpowered firefight. It really captured everything cool about the character.

For me personally, that little short reinforced the idea that Gambit is one of the few X-Men characters that would benefit from being introduced in his own standalone film, rather than mainstream audiences meeting him briefly for the first time as part of an ensemble cast. While I don't believe Marvel should give each individual team member their own film, I think the first X-Men flick would benefit hugely from the audience being familiar with certain characters in advance.

I'd love to watch a Gambit solo flick set in the character's youth, emphasising his roguish charm and duplicitous nature. A heist flick with superpowers would be all kinds of fun and would help establish the character's core personality traits in advance of his debut on the team.

I agree re: gambit and standalone film.

I noticed a lot of people watched the short film. But a lot of people never looked and saw he did a semi teaser trailer like 2years ago for this on his channel as well. It's worth a watch as well
