Thorondor maybe possibly helped out Earendil fighting Ancalagon but to my knowledge never got a majority of the credit.

Thorondor, sadly, is somewhat lacking in feats outside of 'gives Morgoth a facial' and 'Helps - unspecified how - Eärendil drop a giant dragon on Morgoth's house'.
This doesn't help a lot against someone who fights Godzilla.Why are we here?

Also depends on which Rodan it is.
Showa: Can fight Showa Godzilla evenly.
Heisei: Has a heat beam.
Legendary: Turn coat who fights sloppy and is fast and magma for blood, but actually tame in that Mothradwned him ( as opposed to wrestling Godzilla in Showa. And lacks Heiseis beam.)
Though yeah the Eagle King did not really do much and Lendary Rdan could our fly modern jets. So has flight skill for combat.

Thorondor is the fight of a large passenger plane.
That's about it. He is not noted to have any particular powers that would save his ass in a fight such as this one.
