Default Why the H isn't Rockslide more popular?!

He has a unique power set, an actual personality and pretty cool look. Why is he used so sparingly in most of the X-books? He's just popped up in Amazing X-men today and is more interesting than a majority of the existing characters.

Someone should wise up and stick the big fella on a roster. Looking at you, Bendis. Gold Balls, Machine guy, Stepford Sisters, Walking Stick Dude and Kitty Pryde are all dead weight. Do the right thing, Brian!

Rockslide is almost identical to Ben Grimm. He even has Anole to Ben's Johnny Storm!

Have faith, man. At-least on CBR he made it into the final "Definitie Favourite X-kid Showdown" (and only the most popular from the previous polls made the list. He has love here, and is often in cameo roles with his buddy Anole. Got love in X-men recently.

As an Italian-American in this age of hyper-inclusion, I always root for more Rockslide (aka Santo Vaccarro - a nice Italian boy!). That said, objectively, he's not all that compelling.... in my opinion.... which, I suppose, is by definition the opposite of objective ;-) So, we probably get the appropriate amount of Rockslide =)

Rockslide is heavily feature in the new Amazing X-men. He was awesome in it. Speaking of which...why hasn't made a review for it yet?

AND in X-men, Bromance Warriors!!! And he was very fun in Young Avengers. Of the New X-men kids, Santos, Anole and Hellion actually fair best in terms of regular usage.

I did on another website I frequent. I'll stick it up tomorrow if someone else hasn't beaten me to it.

Is any comic character with rock powers popular?

Plus Rockslide is like the Iceman of that gen. Has a role, and a cool power, but can't really be taken seriously.

He also seems to have an increased role in the new run of Wolverine and the X-Men.

You may have noticed that superhero comics are an almost purely nostalgia-driven enterprise, and that 40 to 70 year old characters will always trump the new hotness in terms of popularity.

Novelty character, an ambulatory whoopie cushion.

    Easily forgotten.

Further proof that the book is cancelled.

Yeah. He's kinda interesting -- like Chamber, it looks like he's an essentially immortal psychic force inhabiting physical matter. And he showed some potentially cool power development in Gage's X-Men Legacy run. But writers generally aren't keen on using him as anything except the dumb brick. Good for comic relief, but not much else when you already have half a dozen heavy hitters on the roster with more interesting backstories and personalities.
