Ash's standard equipment is a shotgun. In an arena match Darkman gets merked pretty onesidedly.
In a scenario match that depends on the terrain and the materials they can access, things might get interesting.

Ash has a chainsaw for a hand and a shotgun. In a straight up fight, he's going to win.
Taking them outside of the area and putting them into a scenario of any kind, Darkman is far better at stealth, more manuverable, all around smarter, a master of disguise, and he feels no pain. He'd win there.

I did wonder why Raimi never did an official crossover movie for them.
