Hickman
Bendis
Bendis said in his Guardians book that the powers faded over time or some such BS, so that's why both Gamora and Kitty lost their cosmic powers. Which contradicted Lemire, who wrote Thane (who also had Black Vortex powers) as just having to give up on those powers, or Hopeless, who kept Angel with the fire wings and it took Kid Cable sawing them off so they could go away.
Yep, but Brevoort didn't want it, so Cyclops had to be the Phoenix.
It's a storyline called The Arms of the Octopus (which is also the title of the TPB, in case you or anyone here is interested). It happened in ANXM/Indestructible Hulk/Superior Spider-Man: Special in 2013.
Hickman- Simply for the nuance to long established continuity along with the detail and the time and care put into the execution of the writing. That and it being science/mythology based is always a plus for me. I also LOVE that Hickman is actually writing a status quo where Mutants, a long-downtrodden minority are making true progress. A progress while asserting their independence from the chains of humanity is something I've always wanted to see and I am glad to finally witness it.
Mutant and Proud
Krakoa FOREVER!!!
Hickman's Mama >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bendis's Mama
Yara Flor & Emma "Mama" Frost stan account
Hickman. I'm reading the main xmen book and while I wish more was going on, its not a huge waste of potential.
Le Suck it, Dolphin!
-God I am so tired.
SCOTT SUMMERS AND EMMA FROST DESERVED BETTER.
+1
I acknowledge that Hickman is a much better writer technically. His work is deeper, and has more gravity. Bendis’a read more like teen reality tv.
That being said I must also admit I was way more invested in bendis’s work than Hickman’s. I guess when it comes
To comics I’m not looking for something as deep as other forms of fiction, and honestly I’ve just been skimming through dawn of x. With Bendis I was on the Marvel App every Wednesday as soon as it became available.
I’m ashamed to admit it but it’s the truth
Your favorite superhero- the one you visit these forums to talk about. Would they talk to others the way you do on this message board?
If I had read nothing at all but Bendis' work on the 05 book, and nothing at all by Hickman, I might be inclined to consider him.
1) But some of that All-New X-Men run was by Dennis Hopeless, and I don't remember specifically when the changeover happened, or if the parts that I most enjoyed were Bendis or Hopeless.
2) And I have read other stuff he wrote during that time, and good lord, it was dire. The only new character he created that I can stand is Goldballs, and that character is pretty soundly dismissed by everyone else, so I recognize that it's just early onset senility kicking in, or yet more evidence of my horrible taste.
3) And I have read Hickman, and I haven't been so intrigued by an X-Men storyline since Byrne and Claremont were on the book.
