Who is better X-Men writer: Bendis or Hickman?

The only lasting thing Bendis contributed was Iceman coming out. Everything else was generic, his new characters were un-effective and uninteresting, and his "concept" of bringing the 05 to the present completely destroyed continuity.

Nah, Hickman didn't put a full story together on 9 issues, lots of one and done, no character progression

what character progression was done in all new x-men that wasnt jean??? the 05 had one note reactions to their past, every other x-men just served as wallpaper, the plot was non existent, and the structure and the pacing was terrible.
There wasn't a story, just a bunch of character quirps slugging along a non existant plot or conflict, nothing new, original or even remothly exciting.

And the various plots are advancing in those 9 issues , it took 5 issues for mystique to do anything in that run and she was quickly dispatched.

You want to be biased be biased towards your favorite character, but don't pretend your points are made to be taken seriously in any discussion becuase its so abundntly clear you dont argue in good faith or even in any objective fashion.

but I think you arent being fair. aside for his one and done stories he developed the blueprint for all the other books that are circulation. the idea and execution creating a mutant nation/krakoa, the reveal of moira in her being a mutant and her actively working rewrite the apocalyptic end of mutantkind, the omega list and their importance to the survival of mutantkind, etc. are all elements unique to his vision for the franchise. His approach was an ambitious retelling of the franchise and whether he has perfectly handled an individual character or not doesnt take away from his efforts. Bendis simply doesnt have anything he did that comes close to the complexity of Hickman's work.

He made Iceman gay, Squirrel Girl became once of the pedophile victims, Mystique and Xavier dumb retcon. The list goes on. Bendis wins lmao
