Default Best/Worst Single Story For Your Favorite Characters

If you had to pick what you consider the best and worst story arc for your favorite characters, what would they be? It can be an entire arc/series or just a single issue, however you want to call it.

    Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
    Best: Green Lantern Rebirth
    Worst: Emerald Twilight

    Wonder Woman:
    Best: Gods and Mortals
Worst: Sacrifice or Injustice (mainly the Tom Taylor-written parts)

Why did you dislike Sacrifice? I haven't read it in a long time but Rucka's first run is usually beloved by Wonder Woman fans.

I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Rucka did the best he could with the story given it was an editorial edict but short term it derailed the more interesting storylines going on in his book for the sake of buildup to Infinite Crisis and long term just contributed more to “Wonder Woman the angry warrior” interpretation and shoehorning a lame character like Max Lord into her world.

    Green Arrow:

Chuck Dixon, Ollie getting blown up in a helicopter. (good story, horrible ending)
Brad Meltzer run with Ollie and Roy as the red arrow, Smith's run was brilliant to.

    The Question:

JLA Cartoon - he discovers that Baskin & Robbins conspiracy of 31 flavours
Rick Veitch - Question mini series as a shaman type hero - brutally awful and unreadable.

    Batman
Best: To Kill a Legend (I sound like a broken record at how many times I mention that story in this forum) though Cold Days and Batman Year One is up there
Worst: It would be The Dark Knight Strikes Again but since I haven't actually read it then it's ASBAR

Why were Rick Veitch's early 2000 DC stories so terrible? He was great in the 80s and 90s.

Agreed, I was looking for BC answer. I loved Dixon's BOP run, but Winnick's GA as a whole was pretty shotty.

I can't speak for his other work, as the Question mini series was my first exposure to him, and it was an unbearable read. Vic Sage is my favourite superhero of all time, but I don't think I got by issue 1 if I recall.

Donna Troy, sadly, does not have many (any?) great stand-alone stories with Donna as lead.

However, some of the best stories including/focusing on her: Who Is Donna Troy?; Who Is Wonder Girl?; Tales of the Teen Titans #50; Girl Frenzy: Donna Troy.

Worst: So many to choose from, but I'd go with the Finches' murderous Donna Troy.

Totally agree that Heroes in Crisis is the worst Wally West story. Ugh.

Under the Zatanna section are you refering to Justice League Dark or Justice League Detroit?
