Does Netflix though? I haven't seen any of these, but I know that they do a few action shows like She-Ra and Voltron, but the trailers for those didn't look dark and serious. Maybe more light and serious like Avatar the Last Airbender was, which is still pretty good. Let me know if I am wrong.

Dragon Prince, Tales of Arcadia (Trollhunters and 3 Below), and Disenchantment are more along those lines. Plus they also have a number of anime that are Netflix exclusive too.

To keep the Whedon stuff going, I think Firefly would be perfect as an animated series.

I've always thought so - especially since it was cancelled so soon and Joss must have had ideas for where he wanted it to go. And all the actors involved always seemed so fond of the show that they probably would have been up for it. However, at this point the comics have continued the universe and Joss has said that he feels done with it.

Alf did get an animated series during the time of the series, but it was a prequel series in which it took place in Melmac. Sliders would be pretty good. I'd also love to see Farscape and the Walking Dead get animated features.

Power Rangers has long since needed to be animated. (And I loooooooooooove Sentai) but there is so much they could do storywise without having to be a slave to the source material footage.

Disney+ is giving the Percy Jackson series a second chance.
I'd always thought it was a series that could translate well in animation, probably because of the copious amounts of fanart.

I always thought Buffy the vampire slayer would have made a great animated series.

That clip was the first thought that came to my mind when I read the thread title. As a huge Buffy and Angel fan I'd have loved to have seen this as a full animated series.

Buffy, and Xena. But only with the original actors doing the voices.

Well, Hercules and Xena did get that one animated movie with the voice casts. Unfortunately I don't remember it being very good.
