Her characterization so far is mother and wife. We don't exactly have much to go off on.

Sure, Ultimate Sue may have been an ass, but at least her relationship with Reed wasn't everything.

Which is why Sue needs to put on a different team/developed in her own book for a while. The FF team has been stagnating the character for years unfortunately.

That's the change I want to see for the character.

She should start her own Illuminati and/or they should bring back the A-Force with her in it.

The only logical way for Sue to leave the FF and go on to a different team is for her and Reed to have a second separation, other than Reed and her both leaving the FF, but that makes less sense.

The team and the family are two different groups. The family is the overwhelmingly important group, but the team is like work or a job. People can go off to other jobs and still maintain a relationship. I've often said Sue leads the family while Reed leads the team. And let's not forget Reed had his Illuminati stuff. Also, Wolvie has double dipped on teams as well.

You can be on multiple teams at the same time. Can Marvel even make Susan outside the F4 work? They messed up a lot of their solo outings recently outside of Black Widow.

    Nothing Coates does is canon.

Yes, I guess you are right. One can be on multiple groups at the same time, though in real life such would be difficult.

There is kind of A Force currently in Cap's book. Sue has been a big part of it.

Yeah, true. Steve didn't disappear from Avengers when he was in jail/on the run in his solo book.

There was no problem with the character in her mini. Sue being on her own felt natural and it didn't feel like it was missing the other members or anything like that (which can be the feeling on some team turn solo books).
The plot was basic but Sue on her own worked.

Adoption makes it so much easier, even if they're not biologically their own, and Alicia won't care that the kids have blue and green skin (though N'Kalla could make herself look like a human if she wanted to, and I can actually see her taking a human disguise named Nicola).
Plus Reed could give the boy an image inducer.

Can't resist - - The Mama-naughty, though by no means limited to actual mothers.

Therefore: Sue, She-Hulk, Valkrie (several? sure!) Andromeda - she deserves a great story!, Spider Woman & Black Widow, Janet-Wasp 'cuz best friend? and Wanda, and Agatha. That might do it! Oh wait, Crystal and Medusa. got to!
