    Ah, yes!

    The Children's Crusade.
So, I'm gonna need help with this one, since it's been a long time and it's a lot of story.

    ACT I

Wanda and Vision are in love. (aw)
They want kids, but can't have any, due to Vision's nature as a synthezoid.
Rather than adopt kids or just not have any (like normal people), Wanda uses chaos magic to create 2 kids. (what?!)
Mephisto reabsorbs the kids - they die. (oof!)
Wanda loses her memory of this via Agatha's spell.

    ACT II

Wanda remembers she had kids thru a convo with Janet. (oh-oh)
    Wanda suffers a breakdown. (understandable)

Wanda decides to use magic to bring her kids back. (What?!)
Wanda goes to Dr. Strange for help.
    Dr. Strange refuses. (understandable)
Wanda goes to Dr. Doom for help. (WHAAT?!)
Doom, being attracted to Wanda and wanting to seize the Life Force for himself eventually, agrees.
Wanda now has the Life Force, but it's overwhelming.

    Wanda's powers are freaking out.
    Wanda is freaking out.
Wanda attacks and kills some Avengers. (whoops!)
The Avengers are able to subdue her, and Charles Xavier tries to help.
    He can't. (oh-oh)
    He recommends her death. (Woah!)
Pietro tells Wanda to reshape the universe to avoid her possible death. (WHAAAT?!!)
    Wanda reshapes the universe.

    House of M happens.
Wanda, distraught and wanting revenge on her father for killing Pietro, expresses her (at that moment) heart's desire: No More Mutants.
The Life Force grants her wish.

    ACT III

Wanda is found by Wiccan in Latveria.
She has no memory and is engaged to Doom.
Wanda regains her memory, and plans on using her power (The Life Force) repowering mutants one-at-a-time.

Doom takes the Life Force power and becomes omnipotent. (again)
Doom, a changed man having found love, now politely asks for the world to kneel voluntarily before forcefully subjugating it. (you know, like a gentleman)
Doom also asks Wanda to marry him.

(Aw! Guess he really did want put a ring on it)

    Everyone says no.
Fists happen and Omnipotent Doom is somehow beaten. (What?)
As he runs away, Doom squeals that he was behind everything from the very beginning. Nobody really believes him.
Rather than facing a trial, everyone gives up on justice and somehow decide that Wanda can remain scott-free if she "spends her life helping mutants".

    Cue Uncanny Avengers.
    Cue Empyre.

    That about right?

    Love this post LOL.
I actually really liked Wanda as a character before Bendis, but writers need to try harder to redeem her.
AND she needs to be a mutant again.

If Wanda actually did the whole ‘dedicate her life to helping mutants’, then I’d accept children’s crusade as a first step to redemption.

But Heinberg never had the power to establish a status quo like that, so it fizzled out.

Wanda’s return to comics should not have been done through a Young Avengers book. Especially since the actual Avengers were back by then

You left out the important part of the story where Hawkeye has sex with a doombot... for whatever reason.

And then Doom sent that same Wandabot to speak some gibberish to Beast when he was trying to solve decimation just to **** with him even more. Thinking about it now Doom really just wanted to see back of mutantkind all this time!

Can we just talk about how at least currently, it's implied Wanda did this **** then just dipped like a bat out of hell never speaking on it or telling anyone about it. That's lowkey hysterical to think about imagine fucking **** up that badly.

I thought it was implied that she was killed and eaten. I suppose it's unlikely because no body = no death, but the implication seems to be that she's still there in some form.

How this lines up with the Avengers tie-in miniseries she's appearing in doesn't really matter because a) nobody cares about that miniseries (it's just a containment book for great classic Avengers characters the boring main team refuses to use); b) Hickman's X-books don't coordinate anything with the Avengers office. Probably we'll find out how she survived, or find out it's a different timeline or a clone or whatever.

But yes, it's pretty canon by this time that she screws up a lot. "Wanda goes crazy" doesn't happen all that often but "Wanda's hex goes wrong, with hilarious consequences" definitely happens a lot.

Way too early to determine if that’s the case.

Besides, I think that the Wanda in empyre: avengers IS a Cotati.

If she was killed and eaten, it raises further questions. Many of them

I wonder if Darkhold would have/will shed further light?

Heh, Wanda's such an old character that figuring out the RIGHT characterization is hard. We're talking about someone who's beaten Ultrons made of Adamantium, once faced the Asgardian sorceress Amora in a duel, and also used to be a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants..... She's had erratic characterization for decades. :/

Nothing brings more closure to the trauma of being killed than having sex with a robot that looks like the woman who murdered you (at least according to Bendis).

A woman who killed you because she couldn't have children having sex with a robot. It is like poetry.
