Just another case of Marvel relaunching a book to get a boost of a new #1, when everyone knows sales will quickly just revert to how they were before the book relaunched anyway. I don't know why they even bother...

Its sales weren't that bad before the pandemic, still above the usual cancellation level. I think Marvel have big plans for her.

I imagine the thought is to change the book enough to spark more interest and press (word of mouth). But also to keep the book similar enough to what it was in order to maintain the bulk of fans the book had before the relaunch. Some re;launches are easier to see this plan in, others much less so.

Its relaunching with the same creative team and continuing the same plots from the first series including the Thieves Guild and Queen Cat. It's going to tie into King in Black first though to give it that extra sales push.

I was dealing more in general cases than in this book specifically.

Yeah, I figure that the originally planned issue 13 will now be issue 4 or so (depends how long King in Black runs for) of the new series.

Same goes for Valkyrie's solicited issues 11-13, they'll be released a few issues into it's relaunch.

Really Marvel, renumbering back to #1 -- F**that I'm trade waiting. If my buying a book is supposed to show support then what I want is a continued numbered book.

There are new issues scheduled for October, November and December (2 issues in December according to the latest solicits).
