And thread would be remiss without mentioning...

She was so awesome! I really hate that the name got co-opted to label a violent insurgent/terrorist group.

In execution they're all pretty different from the sources you cited.

As I said I was going just off how they looked, I haven't watched this show.

Still weird that Stretch doesn't resemble the old toy.

The Hanna Barbera stuff comes to mind; Space Ghost, Herculoids, Jonny Quest, etc.

Doesn't that include Blue Falcon and Dynomutt and Birdman?

She was created by Filmation for the TV show. And appeared on TV first.

The Thread Starter's own example The Bionic Man also had a comic, do you suggest that disqualifies their example, and half dozen other examples here that also eventually got comics, crossed over and/or were bought out by comics.

They just have to have originated outside comics.
    Which the Isis character did.

    Yes!
As well as Hanna Barbera's Captain Caveman, actually described as the World's first Superhero in his opening narrative.

So if Batman met Scooby, who met Captain Caveman is your canon; [then] that makes Cavey the DCU Earth's first Superhero.

And if (like me) you're logicily wondering so if Captain Caveman was some weired proto-human Earth first supehero with a supernatural club, then what the frak was Mightor?
Mightor was obviously from dimension X! :-p

Which logically begs the question how Captain Caveman, Mightor and Anthro have never teamed up against Vandal Savage?
When it should retroactively really be DCs first Crisis crossover event.

No?, ....I was the only one thinking that? Damn!

I always wondered why a caveman needed a secret identity.

So his friends wouldn't see him flying around and hit him up for rides all the time, or helping them move...

Does Thundarr the Barbarian count as a superhero?
