    Default X-Men: Mutant Insurrection

    Any board gamers here?

Fantasy Flight Games has announced X-Men: Mutant Insurrection, a "fast-paced, cooperative, dice-driven card game for one to six players!"

There are different scenarios based on villains and events from the comics, such as Magneto and the Brotherhood, Dark Phoenix, and the Hellfire Club. You choose from one of sixteen X-Men and go off to adventure! I love the fact that it's up to 6 players, as I usually have a 5-person gaming group and often games cut off at 4 players. But it looks like there is a large emphasis on cooperation and player interaction.

The list of 16 playable X-Men are:

    • Angel
    • Armor
    • Beast
    • Colossus
    • Cyclops
    • Forge
    • Gambit
    • Iceman
    • Jubilee
    • Magik
    • Phoenix
    • Rogue
    • Shadowcat
    • Storm
    • X-23
    • Wolverine

A little surprised by some, like Forge and Armor. Where's Psylocke and Bishop? Maybe they are planning for expansions down the way.

There are also recruitable mutants like Rictor and Cypher.

What does everyone else think of this new board game? It's been a while since we've seen an X-Men game, so it's refreshing that we'll likely be seeing more coming out in the future.

Thanks for posting this, Nyssane! I had not heard about this before.

I like that Phoenix Jean, Rogue, , Shadowcat and X-23 are included.

Do you know if it gives character stats, character cards or figures? Are there characters outside of the X-Men, as in an expansion module?

The game was just announced yesterday, so not a ton of information out there.

The game does give character stats on the cards, and includes cardboard standees for the different characters. Only the X-Men as of now, but who knows if they'll introduce other Marvel properties down the line.

Big board gamer here. I own Marvel Legendary and a bunch of expansions, everything from Marvel VS 2PCG (for me the best one out there), a lot of Marvel Dice Masters stuff (meh...) and now also some of the new Heroclix sets.

I haven’t got into FFG’s Marvel Champions, it just hasn’t attracted me.

This one looks very interesting (first time I am seeing it). Will be interesting to know more details and how they plan to eventually expand it.

What is intriguing me is that Marvel Champions is also co-op and it is a relatively recent game. Both games seem to share the same style in terms of cards and graphics.

Thank you for finding this pic/info!

Sorry for all the questions, I was just so excited to see something new.

I just read on BGG that this game reimplements Elder Sign

Not sure if this has been confirmed?
