Default Mark Waid's Avengers run 2016 to 2017, is it worth my time and money?

Question as per thread title, all opinions welcome.

Yes. It’s the last time I’ve loved the Avengers and most of the ancillary titles from the jump.

I would say no. I like Waid, but I found it very boring.

Nah. Better than Aaron's run though.

    Yes and no.

Waid is a good solid comic book writer, and we got reasonably good solid old school comic book stories out of his Avengers run. It was fine.

That said, coming off of Bendis and Hickmans run it sort of felt a bit flat. We had these big massive epic game changing runs where the Avengers were literally the heart of the marvel universe to these smaller scale stories which almost felt a little bit like filler to be honest. Reasonably well written filler... but filler nonetheless.

It's not bad... but ultimately pretty forgetable.

Even though things were considered dire back in those days, I still liked Waid's first shot at the Avengers from 1996. It's been said that if Waid were allocated more than three issues (#400; #401; #402), he might have fixed a number of problems and made something really special of his run:

I definately wish Waid had a longer run on Avengers the first time around (especially given how bad the Heroes Reborn Avengers stuff ended up being). I liked the roster and it had a pretty cool classic line up. But it got hikjacked by the Onslaught stuff and rebooted into Heroes Reborn before it ever got a chance. It was filler... though again good filler.

Definitely would have liked to have seen what he would have done here instead of the Heroes Reborn run we actually got.

Something definitely needed doing to Wasp. What were they thinking, mutating her like that? Looking at how she's coloured there, were they trying to attract Starfire fans?
