I really can't remember what Waid wrote when it came to the X-Men.
This must have been around the time I quit the X-Men. I'm not a fan of Waid's.
I liked the three issues that Lobdell did on the FF.
I wished he had stayed and not been replaced by Claremont.

I've always been a big FF fan, and those three issues are some of Scott's best work (Alan Davis's too.) When those came out, I remember feeling like a starved animal who'd just been thrown a t-bone...the last few years of the DeFalco run and Heroes Reborn did nothing for me, so I'd kind of surrendered to the fact that new FF comics might always suck. We get those three wonderful issues, and then the universe said, "Sorry, that's all! Have fun suffering through four years of incomprehensible nonsense from a writer who peaked 20 years ago!" Coming full circle, it was Mark Waid who FINALLY saved the book circa 2002. The X-Men/FF talent pools have been weirdly incestuous for a long time.

He wrote X-men around the Onslaught era.

Also during this time was Waid's Dark Beast Saga (which wasn't a favorite, but I still preferred reading what Waid had planned for the X-Men). And without any intention of going off-topic, Kurt Busiek did a similar story with Yellowjacket/Hank Pym during his '90s run on Avengers and I thought it was much better.

... then I realized this is probably what he meant.

I for the most part enjoyed Lobdell's take on the X-Men as there was no silly love triangle between Logan/Jean/ and Cyclops during his tenure.
This is one of the things I loved about his run.

I think he had a short run on the Wolverine solo.

I remember Waids inclusion of Quicksilver. I loved Lobdells and Davis FF.

Lobdell himself said he really didn't understand the character and also why she would want to be a goddess. But the fact tat she stayed the leader at least showed he had some respect for her.

Lobdell never wrote one solo issue of Wolverine.
