As the great poet William Prince Smith (FReSh) once said, “Tick tick tick tick boom.”
I predict that Superguy beats the other Superguy. The fight will happen at such superhuman speed that I can't tell the difference between the reboot and the imitation.
Well good for Superman. He finally surpassed all of his cape wearing ripoffs.
Except Sentry, though he seems to be more of a ripoff of both Superman and Nuclearman and grew into something else entirely.
If anything Sentry seems to have been a rip off of Miracleman- everyone forgot about him, had comics written about him, had the whole "simpler past" flashback thing, "transformed" from plain, fat, blond Robert Reynolds to the perfect Sentry, his origin story about getting powers turned out to be darker than people thought....there's other stuff too

I mean they literally entered an alternate reality as a result of the time travel where the Cold War was still on, Stalin was still premier etc
I argued this same point years back.
Basically, iirc, it boiled down to Reed declaring that it was absolutely and definitely his own universes future. Like he went out of his way at some point to describe it as being a legit future.
Edit: Pen explained it to me back then, so he likely remembers the specifics better then I. Just going off of my second hand memory.

"Mind bending adventure in a future reality" (not the future reality"

Incidentally the FF of this reality are also on their own "time trip"

Because at the time it wasn't an alternate timeline, it was specifically their future. The alternate reality they entered was a result of the whole "This section of the timeline was then nullified" bit and the ensuing rough ride out.

The whole point of the plot arc was that it wasn't an alternate timeline, it was specifically the future of their universe that had been blocked off.
THis is Reed, straight up saying as they go to that future that "the alternate probabilities are dropping away", ontop of that
https://imgur.com/a/jJf5fVf
That they went to an alternate timeline afterwards doesn't change that. The future they went to couldn't become an alternate timeline ontop of that, it got ultimate nullified as is.
Again, second hand info only (just playing devils advocate) but isnt all of that from the return to the past? It's not necessarily disproving that the future timeline wasnt legit. Just that some trouble occurred when heading back.
...its possible I'm talking out my butt of course. Have not read the comic personally. Just trying to decipher the context.
Edit: mega blitzed!
