Haha, I was watching the first few minutes of a new show called EXTENDED FAMILY and saw Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) pull Lex Luther (Jon Cryer) over for speeding, only to have Booster Gold (Donald Faison) talk them out of a ticket.

Funny thing about Johnny Lee Miller, his first starring role was an extra on DOCTOR WHO, one of the Kinda tribe in KINDA.

Wanda Ventham, Benedict Cumberbatch's mother appeared on Doctor Who three times, probably most memorably as Thea who is transformed into the Fendahl core in IMAGE OF THE FENDAHL.

A young Benedict reportedly visited her on set (or at the quarry location) when she was filming TIME AND THE RANI as a different character.

Christopher Lee (playing Saruman) was the tallest name actor in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings. The second tallest, Rhys Davies, played *the dwarf* Gimli!

There's currently a movie in the pipe about the Ministry for Ungentlemanly Warfare. Christopher Lee was supposedly involved with something like that during WWII, and his wartime spy stories are rumored to have inspired his cousin, Ian Fleming, writer of James Bond (who also served, but didn't have quite so colorful a career full of spy shenanigans).

By now, a lot of people know that Airplane is built from Zero Hour, so much so that they bought the rights to the ZH script. What made it cool for me was that I watched Zero Hour without knowing that. I looked at my partner, "He said the thing from Airplane!" I always thought it was a riff on Airport.

Yeah, for all it's rubber monsters Doctor Who did often have a fair amount of unsettling stuff, especially in the Tom Baker eras.

Funny thing is basically they painted the somewhat Egyptian art-style 'eyes' over her eyelids to add to the weirdness.

There's a creepy skull as well to add to the whole thing (Which reincarnates as the golden Fendahl core)

Image of the Fendahl was pretty much the last gasp of "gothic horror" Doctor Who unless you count the first half of Stones Of Blood.

The Soap Edge of Night was originally developed as a Perry Mason show, but the creator of Perry Mason Erle Stanley Gardner vetoed it in the end because he didn't want Perry's personal life on screen, he felt Perry shouldn't have a love interest. So, they changed the lead character from Perry Mason to Mike Karr with Garnder's blessing and he went on to develop the Prime Time show with Raymond Burr.

LUPIN III has had an interesting influence on other cartoons.

-INSPECTOR GADGET has some roots as a possible Lupin sequel set in the far future, before it was sort of retooled as a Bond/Get Smart parody.

-CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO's gear sequence inspired similar sequences in THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE and BATMAN the animated series Clock King.

-April O' Neils redesign for the 90s cartoon/reporter job in TMNT (Her comic version has sort of a Jennifer Beals look, at least at first) is based heavily on Fujiko Mine, including Cagliostro where she briefly disguises herself as a reporter.

-Not animation but the arcade game Chunk is playing at the beginning of GOONIES is CLIFF HANGER, one of a few "Quicktime event" arcade games that used pre-existing footage from anime (another was based on Galaxy Express). In this case footage from Mystery of Mamo and Castle of Cagliostro, and with Lupin renamed "Cliff Hanger". (I think early dubs of Lupin actually had to rename him regardless due to the character being based on a literary French thief, oddly enough).

I also found it neat that the city they showed in the credits was Cincinnati, even thought that's not the name of the town in the show, because it was (and is) the home of Proctor & Gamble. P&G was the main sponsor of the show when it launched, and their long sponsorship of domestic dramas, even back in the radio days, is the source of the term "soap opera."

From New York, around the turn of the 19th/20th century, she solved cold cases and became the first female Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. She was featured on an episode of TIMELESS. And there have been books written about her. It seems like a premise that's just begging for a screen treatment.
Well there was a "Miss Sherlock Holmes", but it wasn't about Mary Grace.

The movie dr morbid was really dr strange! Week before shooting the marvel rights ran out and other than cashing in more money to reget the rights they just renamed all the charectors but the script was the same and it was clearly dr strange!

Christopher reeve was going to show up in the 80s supergirl movie but he was "busy" and the scene was never filmed. He does show up on posters and mags however. The scene would have had him showing up at the end after the bad guys were beat and gives supergirl a device that lets her go from her home to earth without using magic anytime she wants so she can stay in school on earth.

The 70s hulk tv show had a big screen movie! Bride of the incredible hulk later showed up as two episodes of the show retitled 'married". The big screen version has never been released on dvd or vhs in its movie version but was released on vhs overseas. We only have the edited tv episodes cut!

Black cauldron was rereleased in the 90s as "talan and the magic cauldron" in theaters as an edited G rated cut. It did just as bad the second time. The G rated cut is now lost media.

Found out recently that Big Barda from DC is based on Lainie Kazan who is perhaps best known these days from the My Big Fat Greek Wedding trilogy, but was a pretty prominent singer and model in the late 60s and 70s when Jack was doing his DC work.

100% can see it! Now won't be able to see her in any other appearance without being disappointed she don't whip out a mega-rod to resolve the plot.
