This issue was a let down overall.

The first issue was WAY better by far.

From my understanding Amahl Farouk is a mutant but the actually SK is...something else. I wonder if its just Farouk sans SK?

The real saving grace for this issue is Magik. While I agree she was out of character this issue, its always fun to see her go all out.

I agreed that Horticulture took too much panel time, but I'm biased cause I'm not feeling them as supervillians. A menace perhaps, but not supervillians. However, I'd bet good money those ladies get their own title pretty soon.

I know I'm probably overthinking this, and they were only included because they make for an interesting visual, but the spider legs are weird. We've only ever seen them as the Shadow King's astral form, which suggests to me that this is the Shadow King and not just Farouk. But also, why would they modify the body to look like that? How would they know that the Shadow King would want the spider legs on his physical form as well as his astral form, it's not like he had a will.

Maybe Shadow King returned from the Astral Plane in a separate way from the Resurrection Protocols

When Xavier took over Fantomex's body and became X, he was somehow able to physically alter his appearance to become a younger Charles. If Shadow King possessed someone, maybe he was able to change their body to look like a giant spider-centaur

Overall, I really liked this except two things: Explodey Boy wasting time and Magik's way out of character dialogue.

Horde culture gets under my skin, is someone making ageism an issue? Like let's make dirty lecherous senile women a cool thing...Idk I may be alone on this one but yeah it doesn't land for me.As old women looking for some plant based youth fountain maybe but this is just weird

Somehow I doubt Amahl wanted to be resurrected like this,maybe he accepted Krakoa's invitation and came crawling but resurrected as part spider? Must be Sinister overseeing this resurrection personally
