The Covid schedule has thrown my routine and reading way off and I'm still catching up, trying to track down the issues from March-Now.
When was the last time Damian showed up in either Batman or Detective??

I don't remember about Batman, probably it was during City of Bane, but he was one of the main characters of Arkham Knight arc.
Seems to be about right : City of Bane and Arkham Knight indeed.
Where the heck has he been since then? That was June of 2019!
The last issue of TEC he was in was issue #1017, in February 2020.
The last time he was in Batman was around the same time in city of Bane.
Where robins usually are in the modern era of comics with the his team or in his solo.
Damian was last in Tec just before Joker War in the Tom Taylor penned story.
I honestly don't know why fans who have been reading comics for sometime always expect Robin in the cave?
Morrison and Tomasi was an exception to what has been the norm for decades now.
Maybe it's because Damian is also his kid not just Robin but I've always wondered why it gets asked when the dynamic duo as a feature of the Batman books ended with Jason.

Yeah, don't forget, Damian isn't even Bruce's Robin. Dick gave him the role, and when he went back to being Nightwing, Damian went independent. He appears with Bruce because he's his son, but most of the time Bruce operates without a Robin nowadays - which was also the case when Tim was Robin, as Tim operated mostly independently ever since Azrael's time in the cowl. When Batman and Robin work together nowadays, it's a team-up, no different to Bruce's interactions with any other bat family members. Robin isn't a sidekick any more.
