I hope they do, with Rach and Illyana helping them. At the same time I hope that we will get more of Shaw's plotting behind their back and finding a way to avoid punishment, because it would add more drama.

Tattoos aren't necessarily OOC because people who have them have to get their first at some point in their life. They're so common now that it's more OOC that none of the X-Men have them. But I will say that once she got them, I knew that she was gonna bite it at some point and be (eventually) resurrected since comic book characters don't usually have permanent changes like that.

Honestly, people get tattoos for worst reasons than her entire race having gone through a bunch of changes, like I never understood the hatred for them. Duggan is clearly going somewhere with her (and Pyro's) mini breakdown here.
