Every day is a gift, not a given right.
Greg Hatcher
But props to Iron Maiden for a great Star Wars and Nschornhorst who showed me a comic I need to order.
and Capt Clegohrn, I don't think Rex is winning this week, possibly a first.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
It was hard to choose from. Finally decided to go with Shalla Bal

Scott Taylor. I'm imagining I'm a kid at that time period, excited to read the next issue of World's Finest, and then I see that cover. "Oh...they're farming..."

Riv86672 gets my vote. The "template" cover I chose this week was of Kal-El, who as a child journeyed from a fantastic world to a farm in Kansas, so I voted for a cover of Dorothy Gale, who made pretty much just the reverse trip. Honorable Mention goes to WestPhillyPunisher, since I was hoping that someone would post that particular cover!
Thanks to all for posting such a wide-ranging and impressive choice of covers. When the voting ends in some 5+ hours I shall be in the midst of my evening sleep, so if someone who is awake at the time just can't stand the suspense and wants to count the votes in my stead, please feel free to do so and to proclaim the winner of this week's big E-I-E-I-O. If not, I'll do it tomorrow morning (after the necessary infusion of caffeine to insure that my brain is alert enough to do the counting with sufficient accuracy).
Shalla Bal and that creepy farm cover by Bill Everett
Iron Maiden. I was gonna post the She-Hulk version but changed my mind.

Well, guess what - I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep, so I turned on my computer to check on the contest and it turns out that I can be the one to count the votes after all! Although I'm still a bit groggy, I think the final tally is:
1 vote each: Attila Kiss, foxley, Gotham Citizen, Iron Maiden, Kai "the spy", Scott Taylor, SquirrelMan, Tami, worstblogever
2 votes each: Kirby101, Speed Force League Unlimited
3 votes each: ed2962, Riv86672, Shalla Bal
6 votes: Greg Hatcher!!!
Congratulations to Greg Hatcher for bringing in this week's bumper crop of votes! Apologies in advance if my counting contains errors; please feel free to post any corrections. Thanks to all for playing!

Congrats to Greg!

Congrats to Greg, and thanks to WestPhilly for the vote. I just really like the Soviet propaganda style art on that cover.
