When everyone talks about great comic runs they always seem to talk about the writing. But what are some great runs when it comes to art? I am not really talking about mini series. I mean several issues of an ongoing with great art.

This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
John Byrne and Terry Austin on X-Men
Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott on Fantastic Four
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
Hmm a few off the top of my head (but tastes in art may vary wildly by user)...
Will Eisner's The Spirit
Steranko's Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Any of the Brubaker/Phillips runs
Darwyn Cooke's Catwoman or Spirit
Kirby's Fourth World stuff
Barry Windsor-Smith's Conan
Perez's Wonder Woman
Nexus when Steve Rude was aboard
Tarzan by Joe Kubert

Frank Miller/ Klaus Janson Daredevil. I think the way the art got over the way Daredevil sensed the world, the way he moved in fights and made the story easy to follow was exceptional.
My collection is sorted by artists, not titles (or writers).
I could pull a lot of examples from there, but the two that "hooked" me on art from my early days were Roberto Raviola MAGNUS (he drew Alan Ford from #1 up to #75). His last issue coincided/was also the exit book for the series biggest villain, Superciuk (pronounced "Superchook" a.k.a. "Superdrunk"). He returned for a single issue #200.
The other artist that mesmerized me as a kid was Rudy Nebres and his run on Iron Fist (and the other Martial Art characters in Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu Magazine). I think he started drawing from #10 onwards, handling the main storyline.
My late discovery would be Frank Robbins on Invaders (1975 1st series) from issue #1 to #28 (with few issues missed here and there).
And I have to mention Jean Giraud MOEBIUS on Bluberry, as well as Enrique Badía ROMERO on Modesty Blaise and AXA.
Angel Medina on Spawn (#101 - #150 with few missed), and Kiss: Psycho Circus (#1 - #18).
Might not qualify here (since there was only 5 pages in each issue of 2000 AD), but Clint Langley did a remarkable job on Dinosty from issue #873 – #882).
Olivier Ledroit on Requiem.

The Parker books he did are marvelous. There's 4 total, so I count that as a run.
The Maleev stretch is uneven, but the Bendis/Brubaker run of Daredevil has some great Maleev art for most of Bendis run, and Lark/Gaudiano on the whole Brubaker run.
David Aja kills on both Iron Fist and Hawkeye.
Bill Sienkiewicz New Mutants and Moon Knight are classic, highly influential runs.
Juano Guarnido - Blacksad
Darwyn Cooke - New Frontier - I know OP said no mini-series, but c'mon.
Jean Giraud - The Incal
