Ultra Boy. From my older brothers comics when I was very young and Ultra Boy was on the run from the rest of the Legion. That's most of the DC I've ever read so take it for what it's worth.
Reality is for those who are afraid of science fiction.

Martian Manhunter. Loved the old Ostrander run.

Airwave has a similar thread about Marvel on the DC forums. I presume he's interested in Marvel fans' opinions.

I've always been more of a fan of DC's second bananas with one exception: Wonder Woman, particularly in her Pre-Crisis form.

My single favorite was probably Hour Man, just because I so loved his look, and I'm a fan of the generic-superathlete concept.

But there are a lot that I like, Hawkman+Hawkwoman (especially Silver-Bronze Age), Dr. Fate, the Silver-Bronze Age Atom, The Elongated Man, Black Orchid, Black Canary, there are several others.

Exactly, thanks. I specifically wanted to ask Marvel fans about DC and vice versa.

    DC: Batman

Marvel: Daredevil (although also X-Men and New Mutants)

    Pulps: Zorro

I guess I'm a creature of habit, Dark Avenger types seem to work.

Started with the pulps (and the Disney version of Zorro), then discovered comics Batman (the s O'Neill - Addams run) , and finally landed at Marvel where the Miller run on Daredevil became my favorite.
Who I then (with the rest of comic fandom) followed back to DC with Batman Y1 and DKR, which ironically then referenced back to Zorro!

    Captain Atom / Monarch.

This guy when you stand back and look at his narrative is... well he's basically the count of monte cristo.

Dr.Manhattan is just a lift of him and it really D.C doesn't can't seem to reconcile this guy without failing the character terribly.

But I like him a lot.

I also like the golden age captain triumph
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
    Everything else is irrelevant.

Slightly OT but curious to see opinions. I don't read many comics these days and only rarely follow DC (the last thing I bought was Hush)

I alway got the impression that DC really banks on Batman as their money maker and that their line is much less diverse than Marvel's. (not including other imprints) Opinions?

DC is tough for me, because any one character I like is never given long enough time to actually become 'my favorite'.
And most of the stuff I like (or rather, liked) at DC are team books.

If I had to pick just one, though, I would have to go with... the original Dr. Fate.
