    Default Jim Lee Interview

The Hollywood Reporter did an interview with Jim Lee this week. Thought I'd share:

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...comics-1307413

    From the article:

"Monday, WarnerMedia enacted deep and painful companywide layoffs. DC, the home of heroes such as Batman and Wonder Woman, saw the scythe cut 20 percent of its staff, with many senior editors let go and a reorganization implemented that sent shockwaves through not just the company but through the comic and DC fan community."

Did you ever think the day would come would an article about DC Comics would reference Batman and Wonder Woman, BUT not Superman. I just found that odd.

Don't worry, soon the comment will read, "DC, the home of heroes such as Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman!"

Batman and Wonder Woman both have movies coming out soon. Superman doesn't. Articles like this are normally for the mainstream public, not comic fans. They're going to highlight what's most relevant to the general audience.

Yes, there will be more Batman — John Ridley, who won an Oscar for penning 12 Years a Slave, is writing a Batman mini-series (“It will have a huge impact on the rest of the line,” Lee says) — and there will also be the return of Milestone, a label that features under-represented heroes and creators.
Here's a good example of Batman getting a major creator and basically skipping everyone else. Though I'm just guessing as to why John Ridley would want to write a Batman book, its probably because the franchise has proven to be a well spring for innovative and adult story telling, people are going to want to work on Batman instead of someone like Aquaman.

Focusing on two off-hand references to two characters in comparison to the rest of the interview kind of seems missing the forest trough the trees situation.
