The movie looks hilarious for all the wrong reasons, but what a song!

you never seen armageddon ? Disaster end of the world movies were on the rage during that time and this movie was competing with the similarly theme deep impact movie but honestly ,people always remember the movie for that music by aerosmith.

I missed a lot of the high concept Hollywood movies in the 1980s and 1990s--and I don't regret it. Unfortunately, I did "see" ST. ELMO'S FIRE. I was with my friends and they wanted to see a movie and that's what was playing. Within the first five minutes I knew it was going to be a stinker and I begged them to leave--"Guys, if we leave now we can get our money back and do something else"--but they wouldn't budge. So I slunked down in my seat, closed my eyes and tried to miss everything.

The one good thing that came out of David Foster's song was Rick Hansen used it for his "Man in Motion" tour.

Was st elmo's fire that bad ? many of the stars of that movie became sort of iconic for that 80s generation. this together with the breakfast club , another movie i have never seen, starring a few of the same actor/actress were very popular around that time.
