At best it would be just Johnny.

I'd rather Peter actually bring up Uncle Ben instead of pretending he doesn't exist.

Is Richard Parker worse than Tony Stark?
Most of the X-men were about 16. I think the main Avengers were about 30, which is only 14 years older than Peter. Janet, Wanda and Pietro were only about 20.

And yeah, Richard Parker was worse than Tony. At least Tony was alive and helped him out. Peter trying to find his dead/not dead father was a lame storyline. I don't think Peter is pretending Ben doesn't exist, it's just not necessarily relevant. But if he was older, he wouldn't be looking up to Tony in that same way. Which is why I think he should be older

Yeah, but we got that scene of Sally Field telling Peter that he was "her kid."

    Still mostly adults though.

    Which was the problem.

Yeah, they were mostly adults, but they were closer in age than in the MCU.

And what's wrong with Tony helping Peter? He did so in the comics too. What's wrong with heroes helping each other out with their resources?

If you don't want Peter being a sidekick, wouldn't it then be better if he was older?

I hated that scene, because it epitomizes everything wrong with the way Peter's obsession with Richard damaged his relationship with Uncle Ben and Aunt May in those movies.

Was anything in the ASM movies any good besides the actors?

Not to that pronounced an extent in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with help, just not to the degree of the MCU.

But the original point of Spider-Man was being a teen hero that wasn't a sidekick.

But at least the scene acknowledged it.

The MCU has denied Peter's relationship with Uncle Ben, but I've never doubted his connection to Aunt May.

Yeah, but Sally Field felt more "real" to me.

The problem is MCU Aunt May has basically been reduced to "oh, she's hot and Peter is uncomfortable with how many men hit on her, lol".

But is he supposed to be a teen in movies forever? Can't he grow? I'm tired of him being stuck in the same motions forever

I don't know what you mean by "not that pronounced." I don't think Iron Man helped him out too much. And I don't see why that's a problem but perpetually teenage Peter isn't.

Why does Peter even get to be uncomfortable? She's a grown woman.

It's just a gag, similar to Sam's "don't flirt with my sister" moment .

    https://www.cbr.com/disney-sony-movies-after-netflix/

While not officially a continuation, a new deal should be expected at this point.

Huh, okay, so this was unexpected.

Sony and Disney reach a deal to have Marvel movies on Disney+.

I had all my bets on that not happening, and their deal ending sooner than later, but I was wrong. It's been rumored that the recently cast Emilia Clarke in the D+ Secret Invasion series might play Veranke/Jessica Drew, wonder if this might be linked in order to have Jess been shared between Sony and Disney too.
