    Default X-Factor #2 review/spoilers

    The team’s first official case

    - a mysterious figure leaves a package at the door of the Boneyard.

    - Aurora arrives to the Boneyard after resurrection and the team hurries to greet her, Jean-Paul is very happy to have her back. Kyle apparently lives with the team on Krakoa and only leaves for work

    - The package that was left for them is bloody and no one wants to touch it, so Daken examines it. it’s a ballet shoes with sponsorship logos all over it that the team can’t recognize.

    - they all start asking Aurora what she knows about the package(she found it) and she gets overwhelmed telling them to shut up, she’s been alive only for 2 hours.

    - Prodigy figures out that the logos belong to Mojo World. there’s a competition there on TV shows that a mutant took part of and she died somehow. Prodigy found and shows the news released in Mojoverse about her death

    - Jean Paul is not a patient leader

    - Rachel leaves Amazing Baby in the Boneyard asking Aurora to look after it while they’re going to Mojoverse to investigate.

    - the team gets a new uniform – we don’t know how, they just wear it on the next page.

    - Prodigy found that the victim's indentity is hidden behind a paywall called "Headshot TV" and used Daken’s credit card and Eye-Boys phone number to pay for it. It's a premium subscription with 500 Mojoverse cable channels and live streaming, which Aurora will watch throughout the story to see what’s happening to the team the other side in Mojo World.

    - Meanwhile the team arrives to the outside of Mojo World through a Krakoan gate. (so mutants have easy access to Mojoverse too). There are many people there and Northstar trying to figure out what's going on.

    - To enter the inside Mojo World candidates have to go through a live streamed audition where viewers can vote or downvote them. If someone gets voted in, they can enter Mojo World and they will have a compulsory livestream on Headshot TV while being there, and it's basically a competition among candidates who can get more views. We see the audition of X-Factor team and the viewers' comments on each individual members, it's funny. Everyone gets voted in except Daken because he started to undress on live stream to show his tattoos which gets him voted off. Northstar was told that he's going back to Krakoa and gets mad at him, calling him pathetic that he didn’t get in to help them investigate. I think Daken did it on purpose because he has other ideas to investigate in there, but he just teases Northstar that he’ll go back to Boneyard to keep Aurora company instead. Northstar says she will just wipe the floor with him, but we see Aurora (who’s watching them on TV)being surprised that Daken finds her sexy (they’re definitely going to get together lol)

    - Audition is not enough, teams that participate on Headshot TV needs sponsors and X-Factor gets Mojo himself, because mutants are hot topic with Krakoa and all which boost stream views so Mojo wanted them for himself, although he would’ve preferred more popular X-Men.

    - the team doesn’t want anything else just to find the dead girl and get out. They force Mojo to tell what he knows and Rachel takes out his army.

    - There are 5 popular livestreamers on Headshot TV, they each have their own brands and streaming studios. The mutant girl who died debuted on 'Spiral’s Showcase', dying while competing for top spot.

    - The team wants to go to Spiral’s studio to find out more but another team wants to fight them to climb the feeds so they can earn a guest spot in the top stream.

    - Meanwhile Kyle arrives back home to the Boneyard, greets Aurora and they watch the live stream of what’s happening to X-Factor in Mojo World

    Interesting things:

    - When Aurora arrives to the Boneyard, she’s holding a leaflet saying “So you’ve been resurrected”. So Krakoa has a guide to help and inform the newly resurrected mutants

    - Edit: Eye-Boy’s T-shirt says: KRAKOA QUE HERMOSA ERES - Krakoa you’re beautiful? in Spanish David Baldeon, the artist is Spanish (I used google translate, so correct me if it's not that!)

    - The Beaubier twins switches to French when they talk about personal stuff

    - Aurora calls Daken on his real name Akihiro

I'm not a huge fan of Mojoworld, but this issue was great. I love the balance of humor and intrigue. I wonder if the star looking logo is for Longshot or Shatterstar. Looking forward to Spiral. Does Kyle have a job on Krakoa?

X-Factor Rachel >>>> Gold Rachel. Wow look at that, Rachel is able to be written competently.

Issue was ok, but was missing something for me. Dialogue was a bit hit and miss as well, last issue felt a bit stronger. Daken stripping on camera was funny though.

Great issue, although I am still unsure of the vibes this series is giving me. From the art to the dialogue to the plot, it gives off teenagers' after-school murder club vibes. Like the Scooby-Gang for mutants. I don't know if this is intentional or not. Don't get me wrong - I like the idea, but I was expecting a more noir-ish, grounded take on X-Factor, given the rationale for its existence and considering Northstar and Lorna are in there. The uniforms look cool, though.

The comments in the stream chat had me screaming. "uwu dapper hipster boi," "i am. frightened. yet turned on"

I like portrayals of entertainment-heavy societies, so I'll stick around for more.

Kyle leaves Krakoa for his human job, but maybe he helps out in making/printing all those mutant-helpful pamphlets lol

He can't use the gates on his own though, and I doubt he just waits around for a mutant to escort him. Also I thought I saw Williams mention Kyle getting more directly involved but I can't remember where.

Eye Boy's T-Shirt reads "Krakoa Que Hermosa Eres", Krakoa how beautiful you are, or Krakoa you're beautiful.

I'm really into this book so far, it's zany and wacky fun. Prodigy's costume is great. Rachel's is terrible, but at least she's consistent.

I really want to enjoy X-Factor 100% but all the characters talk too much. I exhaust the pages full and full of text covering the art

LW's got a Bendis way of writing dialogue, but more annoying. Less banter would be great.
