Congratulations to foxley for a cover which helped to Define Continuity. I admire his quoting of lyrics to match the week's theme as well.

As for my extraneous features, I present the Peak of the Week where the captain regales us all with what he has learned this week. The concept of this week's contest is an example of how much we care about these characters. We want to know how they would react IF, even if that if was a horrible event. And if the dying character wasn't important to us, they were important to the star of the book. Thus, the Imaginary Stories, What Ifs, and faked deaths.

And now the captain discusses Rule 7. I am a big fan of letting the cover go and just not voting. But also being a big fan of envelope pushing, I enjoy seeing how close to the line I can come and perhaps nudging over it. I will say that the guidelines for entries were not strictly defined. It was a great idea but whether a cover fits or not was open to interpretation for many. But we handled the discussion, as always, with politeness and knowledge.

And thanks to ed2962 for the vote.

    Congrats foxley!

The cover I posted wasn't as obvious a Redshirt moment as many of the other covers posted, but a previous volume in that series had a major Redshirt event. Unfortunately, that cover didn't give it away (I guess Warren wanted that to be a surprise, a very gruesome surprise). The cover I posted was a response to that event.

Congratulations, foxley and a good topic for the new contest!

    Thanks for your vote Tami!

I thought the whole idea of a "red shirt" is that they are typically nameless characters in TOS Star Trek that are seen once and get killed. Guess I was wrong! On to the next contest!

    I can't believe I got 2 votes. Trident wasn't a redshirt, he was a villain.

Well, he was a redshirt villain!

If I’d remembered that Titans cover instead of issue 13, I’d prob. have posted it myself, so i HAD to give you my vote!
