Fear Itself was a favourite for showing a key backstory of the Norse gods about Odins brother, and how Odin can treat Thor when it comes to “family first” before Starks Asgard. This shows us Odin how when he consigned Thor to Earth, the treatment we never saw but here shows how Odin treats Cul and Thor, and why. And that wonderful image of Odins steps in The nothingness of space, and he creating tiles to walk on, then the weave of making a planet for his new Asgard. These are images seered in my mind now. As well as the “Cull” of humanity. Those sorts of mythology that are too mind-boggling to conceive are what Matt Fraction and Stuart Immonen filled into the Marvel iconography.

Fear Itself is what happens when the Marvel Superhero narrator dares to confront the Asgard Narrator.

Matt Fraction started the flanderisation of Odin and Thor into thuggish boors with anger issues and a potty mouth.

I disagree with your views on that run and Fear Itself.
I think an easy way to look at Thanos stories is that anything written by Jim Starlin, Ron Marz and Keith Giffen is the real Thanos while anything written by other authors should be dismissed as a Thanosi clone.

God Butcher. One of the best Thor stories I’ve ever read.

God Butcher, Aaron had at least one good Thor story in him.

    God Butcher.

It was/is good, despite me not liking the rest of Aaron's Thor run (not keen on his Dr Strange, either).

Aaron can't write mystical characters to save his life. He should stick with Wolverine and Punisher.

    Dark Gods. Really underrated villains.
