RIP Chadwick Boseman. He was a legend.
RIP Chadwick Boseman. He was a legend.
I remember him from an episode of Cold Case, Street Money. Despite loving Cold Case, I was really surprised to see him there.

I remember a few months ago when he was really skinny and fans were worried, but then some people speculated that maybe he was just getting physically ready for a role. Then he was rushed to the hospital a couple of months later, and people speculated that maybe it was just because of COVID-19. Crazy to think he was going through all of that and we didn't know about it. In a way, it was probably for the best that it wasn't made public. Dealing with an advanced cancer like that is overwhelming, and at least he got to have some privacy during this time. Man... **** cancer. And RIP, Chadwick.
I seriously doubt this. But yeah, let's not get into this right now. Marvel probably won't address it for a while out of respect.
Rest in peace Mr Boseman.
Homeboy, all while (quietly) having late-stage cancer, filmed multiple movie roles, visited children in hospitals and cancer facilities, did numerous interviews, got SWOLE enough to play a superhero (while I can't even muster the fortitude to gain a build beyond that of a rake or twig), among many other things, in between chemotherapy and surgeries.
Think about that for a second.
I'm awestruck, really. Straight badass sh**...
This man did Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, 42 and other works all while being sick, with no one really knowing, going on press tours while becoming a hero to millions. He's an absolute legend for this.
But this hurts the most:
Q: You came off of one Black Panther project, did Marshall, and then made another Black Panther movie. Did you bulk up, slim down, and then bulk up again?
A: [Nods his head, exhausted] Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Q: You've been through the wringer.
A: Oh, you don't even know [laughs]. You have no idea. One day I'll live to tell the story.
:/
Just woke up and I read it, really devastating. Condolences to his family
What an inspirational man and what a sad loss.
I was totally shocked when I read this news today. I had seen all the stuff earlier in the year about saying he hadn’t looked well but just dismissed it as the usual social media crap.
Also that he made all those films whilst battling cancer is remarkable testament to the man.
R.I.P.
Damn. Cancer. Again and again and again.
Respect to Chadwick Boseman and to his fight.
Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way
That is sad the world lost a good actor and role model. One thing that is nagging at me, after seeing my dad suffer through and pass from throat cancer. Boseman was not public with his cancer which is hard to do when in public eye and actually is alot of work to hide that much pain, and it makes me wonder why. My guess is that if he had been he would have lost roles because of it, and he was afraid of this. One role in particular comes to mind, and thats Black Panther. Do we honestly believe he would have gotten the role with the way the MCU thinks of sequeals if he had made that knowledge public? And that bothers me. A persons illness shouldnt limit the things they can do while here on the Earth. It is like age discrimination imo. And its sad that he had to hide his pain and illness.
